i remember before I went full time, I would make say 2 or 3 hundred over breakfast, then spend 12 hours commuting and working for 70 quid after tax, come home and make another 5 hundred, and so when I lost my job it was just too easy to fall into living off this nonsense. Sure it pays nicely, but you only get one life and I wish I had put more effort into doing something I can look back on with some pride.
There is a cult film that you should watch. "Office Space".

Is that the one where the guy goes on about his stapler? I think all my american friends love that film and think it is hilarious. I personally didn't think it was funny at all.

My only advice to people thinking of doing it full-time would be to take 5 days off work, do the same hours as you would at work (including commute) and see how profitable it is. It may give a good idea if it is enjoyable/profitable. Of course taking the week of Cheltenham off will be more profitable than a week in which there are no major sporting events.

I made just over £500 in May which was comfortably my worst month ever. It's fair to say I didn't put much effort in but that's been true all year really (went back to work in January) but I was still 4-figures each month in Jan-Apr. May is probably the first month where the generally worsening landscape actually made a very noticeable difference to what I earnt.

Of course it's possible it's a blip but mentally I've already written down any future profits I might make to maybe a couple of hundred in beer vouchers (wine vouchers in my case) a month maybe, with the odd good month thrown in perhaps if I hit a slot win or summat.

Just seems like you have a negative mindset towards APing because of going full time, perhaps consider doing something else; it’s never too late

Also, if you are making 100k+ per year without tax (which is pretty much what you said £700ish per day) and have been doing that for a while and invested it wisely you shouldn't need to work and can chose to do whatever you would like.
that was just an example of one day, some days I lose of course.

Yeah i think i will pack it all in pretty soon and do something a bit more interesting.

I guess there is a danger, but currently my monthly salary is 0, additionally my aim is to make perhaps £1,000/month which is not enough for a salaried job. The job I (will) do is for the challenge of the job ( not necessarily the money I get on payday), ie the company i got an internship offer with - I am doing the job for the love of the (art of being an engineer) ie they value getting interesting work/ prestige (AP doesnt have much prestige lol).

Tbh, my career life is different to the hobby of matched betting - I think matched betting is a useful way of saving up for a mortgage/car/ (perhaps to start a business/ holiday.

I doubt I will make more than £40,000 when graduating unless one of my investment banking jobs comes through with an offer. If I went into banking then I will make a lot more than matched betting every offers.

It does sound like you need a challange but that needn't come from work as such. There is always a different way of finding motivation - from within. We do not need to define ourselves by careers for example.

The catch22 about AP'ing is that a lot of the successful people are capable of a lot more. It's hard to know whether to stick or twist at times.

I think this says a lot about Ap'ing, but sometimes I think I'll get to stage where I start to automate my profits and just maintain an easy £500/month for the rest of my life lol!

I have never made anything like that much and what I did/do make has not always been easy. I do believe the figures though it is possible and I can see how it could be done. I just dont have the skills, organisation, or sometimes just balls to hit those levels, certainly not consistantly.

    It can be done though.
Have a plan and stick to it
