Bwin Closed Account
I don't know where to start. I am shocked and very angry.
I have over 700 pounds of bets sitting at bwin, they cancelled them all and closed my account. They said that my account will be closed permanently and I will not be allowed to open an account with them again.
I phoned them and found out that they closed my account because I had entered my year of birth wrongly.
I am surprised because I always double check when I sign up at bookmakers.
I asked them if they could show me a proof of that because I can't even enter into my account. They said they will not do that.
I find it very rude behaviour form their side. I told them I can show them enough documents to prove that I am who I am.
They have acted very rudely and without any respect. They treated me like a criminal on the phone, but I have not done anything illegal.
I was placing normal bets.
Please someone help. I don't find this fair at all.
I wish to complain to eCogra and other organizations. I should be allowed to play at bwin if I wish so. I have not offended them in any way and if there was some typing mistake at signup, it should be corrected in a normal manner. the security team should normally ask for more documents and then correct the error, if there was one.
Its not the first time I have read this, they seem to use this a lot as an excuse not to pay. You can also try to fill in a complaint to SBR
What have they said is happening to your balance?
just spoke to them again... they will pay me whatever is left on my account. they said they can't guarantee whether the remaining bets will be cancelled or left to settle... so now i have no idea if i should match the bets with other bookies or not.. lol... go figure.
who is SBR ? sorry i have no idea...
Im about to complain to Ecogra for unfair treatment of customers by bwin.
bwin was very nice to me since the beginning they had great customer service until TODAY!. but the way they reacted because "supposedly" i entered wrong year of birth "1988" instead of "1980".... i mean come on people, everyone is human.
if someone made a mistake like that and then provided me with ample proof that they are who they are, then I would just say okay, fine. but these guys just proved to me and the whole community here that they are just a bunch of dirty dogs with no human dignity.
Don't accept that. They can guarantee what is happening to the bets you've placed and if they choose not to tell you now it is totally unacceptable and unethical. The implications of what they are saying are quite clear; choosing to not state whether bets will be honoured provides a situation where the bets can be settled as they choose after the event which is not what fair bookmakers do EVEN if they think you're dodgy in some way.
Try to speak to a manager if you haven't already done so, keep calm and stick to that point. The wider issue of account closure is much smaller than knowing if £700 of bets are valid or not.
There is NOTHING I can do. They told me they will forward it to the Financials department and ask them what will happen with my remaining bets which have been placed.... I have one big bet 465 pounds for Sunday's match.. it has a big chance of winning at odds of 1.6 ...
well all I can do at this point is to contact the Financials department at their email address.
The phone support guys are acting like a stone to me and they use the "financials" department as the final decision makers.
What the hell is this place, they make a nice looking site, nice customer service, but when things turn wrong, they become your worst enemy.
goodbye bwin. i will fight back, be sure of that, 2#$@#$ assholes.
on the phone with Bwin right now... i did exactly what u told me...

what do you think? should I call them again and record the phone conversation from my skype and keep this proof to nail those bastards?
is this the SBR complaint you are referring to ?

Below is a copy of this email (Yes, the European Gaming Commission is based in Brussels, and Yes, it just happens that I will be in Brussells during the month of May and, Yes, I will complain to this commission in person with full details. Those guys should know that this type of behaviour is unacceptable).
This is a notice that t I have commenced my reply to your unfair treatment in my case.
I have issued and official complaint through two main sportsbook review websites. If this matter remains unsolved within next two weeks, I will then proceed through eCogra for an official complaint.
I am also travelling to Belgium next week, and luckily the bureau of the European Gaming Commission is headquartered at Brussels, Belgium. I will visit them as well in May and issue an official complaint against your company.
I am a man of my words, so all the above will be executed to my fullest power.
