Stan James Letter
I received this letter this morning, can anyone tell me if this means my account is now limited? I don't understand what they mean by "Please also note that your betting account will no longer qualify for ‘Best Odds Guaranteed’. This is in accordance with our Terms and Conditions."
This email follows a review of your Stan James betting account.
The decision has been made to remove the option of placing bets through our call centre on this account.
You are welcome to continue to enjoy Stan James's products online at Online Sports Betting, Live In-Running Betting, Mobile Betting, Casino, Poker or via our mobile telephone application (text stans to 89700.)
Please also note that your betting account will no longer qualify for ‘Best Odds Guaranteed’. This is in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
These decisions have been made purely for commercial reasons and we regret any inconvenience caused.
Kind regards,
Richard.

It means they've started to give you a poke with the gubbing stick. Probably don't like the bets you've been making with them.
You'll find you can still place reasonably sized bets but it's only a matter of time before they say thanks but no thanks.

It would be so much better if they just came out and said something along the lines of, we know what you are up to and we don't like it so we are going to limit your stake amounts.
At least then you would know exactly where you stand. The email they send you basically sheds no light on what restrictions they have placed on your account. It really makes no sense at all for them to word the email as they do.
As getthemax says you will still be able to get a half decent bet on and rack up a few more £'s profit, but you may as well get it done and dusted as soon as.
In the very short time my sister has had the letter she has gone from 50% down to 10% limits. There is no point messing around trying to protect the account now. Hit it for as much as they will allow and then walk away.

okay thanks, that's what I thought. basically it means I should better place some bets soon before the account is limited, unless all my bets lose

I never had my account limited, but when you're offered 4 euros on an english premier league bet and 6 pennies on a hungarian league game, that to me looks like a limited account.
I could usually get at least 90 gbp on a bet at stan james.
Then this letter, although it doesn't state about my account being limited, it really means it just got limited.

From what I can tell, this letter (or email) seems to be a standard thing and most people seem to have received it at some point!
What I don't understand is this. If other bookmakers are going to restrict you they are more likely to say that you can use the telephone service but not the internet service. SJ seem to do exactly the opposite.

Once upon a time many years ago I was offered a -minus figure on the betslip by Bet365 there is a screenshot of it knocking about somewhere. I didnt submit it but I really wish I did now to see whether they really would have let me lay the Horse to win!
Have a plan and stick to it

Got the same...after my first bet!

The problem with Stan James, is the person responsible for setting the prices, is incompietent. Every day I guarantee to be able to find several glaring errors. Couple this with thier pretty generous prices in the first place, and its no wonder they get taken to the cleaners from time to time. Half the time they dont even seem to notice the palps and let them go. My advice to anyone would be to hit them hard and often, until they shut you down, make hay and all that.
