    Betfair CEO is leaving

Succession process for CEO of Betfair to begin

It is a bit vague as to why exactly he is standing down. I dont think you can blame the share price fall on him that was inevitable they were never worth close to £15 each in the first place nobody else could have stopped that either.

Apparantly there is A LOT of people leaving all through the Company though from the top down so there is plenty of vacancies throughout. If anyone is looking for a job try here:

    http://www.betfair.jobs/job-search-and-apply

The CEO job is not listed there but they do have a position for "Lead ScrumMaster", I have no idea what that is but doesn't it sound fun!

    Wikipedia says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrum_%...re_Scrum_roles)

    ScrumMaster
Scrum is facilitated by a ScrumMaster, also written as Scrum Master, who is accountable for removing impediments to the ability of the team to deliver the sprint goal/deliverables. The ScrumMaster is not the team leader but acts as a buffer between the team and any distracting influences. The ScrumMaster ensures that the Scrum process is used as intended. The ScrumMaster is the enforcer of rules. A key part of the ScrumMaster’s role is to protect the team and keep them focused on the tasks at hand. The role has also been referred to as servant-leader to reinforce these dual perspectives.
Sounds like a fancy name for a project manager type role.

Not sure how fancy "ScrumMaster" as a name sounds though

And now they are increasing Premium Charges....
Good Bye from the old CEO?
From 18th July 2011 Betfair will be making some changes to the Premium Charge. The current Premium Charge mechanism will remain in place but higher rates may now apply to a small number of customers (less than 0.1% of annual active customers).

Full details of the changes can now be found on the Betfair Charges page under the About Us section of the website. However, the changes can be summarised as follows:

    • Customers will only be subject to Premium Charges at higher rates if they satisfy all of the following conditions:

o Lifetime net profits* exceed £250,000
o Lifetime commission generated less than 40% of lifetime gross profits
o Bet in more than 1,000 markets

    • Customers that satisfy all of the above conditions will be asked to pay Premium Charges at rates between 40% and 60% on all future exchange activity.

Well profits were on the up still, it is suprising he did not wait until they were relaeased today to say he was going, it could have been "I have taken the business forwards we are in a strong position I want to pursue other ventures now" type thing.

    Very odd.
