    Slow navigation around Betfair

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post but hoping someone can give me some advice. I don't have the quickest broadband connection but have always been able to move around Betair at an acceptable speed. Lately I find that particularly the football odds screens take far too long to load. This seems worse as it often wants to load that horrible main match screen with the big grey/blue banners that shows vaious items that you can bet on. I also find on a saturday when I have had betfair and lots if other applications loaded for several hours that general navigating in Betfair goes ridicuously slow and I find I have to close it down and restart a session. Do others have these problems or have I some settings set wrong? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

It sounds like a problem with your PC to me, what kind of PC is it / how old etc? Slow PC can make some intensive sites grind after a while.

Maybe you could try using one of the trading applications like geeks toy? Or something similar? There's a thread around somewhere about them:

I've noticed exactly the same, but only on navigating to the football markets.

If its any help, I do find everything loads quicker at Betfair when browsing in Chrome.

Monk, it's a year old Fujitsu so not sure really why it's doing this. I will give the advice you, Oldman and Frank gave a look, cheers.

Fair enough then should be OK (though obviously depends on the actual specs!).

With Chrome there's a useful feature (I think it's something like shift-esc off top of head) where you can list how much resources each tab is using if you are that way inclined - which makes it useful/easy to see which tabs are eating up most resources and should be restarted to make things faster.

Firefox doesn't have that kind of 'threading' - it runs every tab inside one big 'container' if you like and doesn't necessarily handle memory as well as it should so if one tab goes wrong, the whole application goes wrong. I still use Firefox mostly but for memory intensive sites like 12bet/sbo/188bet/betfair/smarkets I use Chrome.
