Playtech in Virtual PC
Anyone had any probs running a Playtech download casino (in my case, Bet365) in a Virtual machine?
I have tried it on two PCs, and on both the casino crashes within seconds of logging in.
My first VM is on a Windows XP machine, running MS Virtual PC (also with XP). Max memory I can have for the VM on that machine is just below 700MB.
When the Bet365 casino kept crashing, I tried another machine, which has Win 7 64 bit and lots of memory. I am using VMWare Player to manage my virtual machines there. Installed XP in the virtual machine, and have given it 2.3GB of memory. Crashes shortly after logging in, just like on the first PC.
Other applications seem to be running fine in both my virtual PC environment.
Anyone got any thoughts on what me wrong?
I have been slacking in posting to this forum, and especially to this thread more so as I started the thing. Here's a quick update:
- I have bought a new chair - The Markus from Ikea. I saw it recommended on a web site by a bloke who claimed it was a comfortable chair for those who can't stretch to a Hermann Miller. I can confirm it is very comfortable and much better than my work chair which probably cost more.
- I bought a proper desk - the Ikea Mikael. It holds things on it.
- I dug out my second monitor and set it up
- I have gained far too much weight and need to lose it
I also noticed that Atlassian offered versions of both their Jira issue-tracking software and Confluence Wiki software for $10 so bought both. I think that Jira is almost certainly overkill for use by just one person, but Confluence is excellent and I use it for storing valuable information for myself.
I use one of these. Does the job for me.
Sorry to bump such an old thread, but it's very useful especially to someone like me who still has much to learn, so it might be useful to others in the same position
At the moment I use:
Ultimatcher - couldn't live without it once I got used to it
Firefox - separate profile, so I just start the Matched betting profile which keeps all my bookmarks and everything separate from my normal stuff
Matched betting toolbar for firefox - a handy toolbar that sits on firefox where you can enter the back/lay odds and it calculates the stake. It has a handy +/- adjuster for the lay which is alot quicker than using a spreadsheet. Very handy when laying horses and the odds are moving quickly.
Cookie editor for firefox - enables you to quickly search for specific cookies so you can delete certain cookies. Good when you want to ensure cashback goes through, but don't want to delete all cookies
Just about to try reminderfox thanks to this thread
This might sound dumb, so apologies in advance......
I am thinking of getting a new mobile. This is partly because I have never had anything other than a £9.99 pay as you go jobbie, but also ( and more importantly) because now the little un is here we seem to get dragged out every spare weekend. Therefore I am missing too many of my bread and butter Billies BOGOFF's.
So my (probably rather dumb) question is can you activate the billies website properly from a mobile with regards to live markets and the placing of the freebets?
And do I need anything inparticular to be able to do it?
I dont really us my mobile much for calls, so not really wanting to spend loads, just one adequate for the job.
Using the iPhone 3G, I have always had probs with the live betting part of Billys - the rest of the site works fine but not that part (think because it uses Flash)
Hello - I have searched the forum so sorry if there is already an answer but is there a ready made record keeping things where you enter your bookies and show profits and bets. Does anyone know of anything like that, My excel skills are limited. I would ask the other half but he thinks match betting is dodgy. Thanks in advance
