stupid 5dimes rules... for soccer games.
I placed a bet of 140 usd (100 eur) on Zenit vs Dinamo moscow game @Dinamo @6.44 odds.
I placed it in 2 bookies, 5dimes and unibet.
At result 2:4 in 88th minute of 90 minutes Zenit fan comes into field and attacks one player, refree stops the game.
5 dimes was fast to anounce game void and return me the money, while unibet is still waiting for official game result.
There is of course difference in rules
Full game soccer wagers are official on the result at full time (90 minutes of play + referee stoppage time) unless otherwise specified. If a match is suspended/abandoned or postponed/rescheduled, and not resumed within 12 hours from the actual scheduled start time, wagers on the match will automatically constitute NO ACTION and be refunded.

5.11.5 In case of an abandoned event, all bet offers that have been decided prior to the abandonment and could not possibly be changed regardless of future events, will be settled according to the decided outcome. All remaining bet offers will only be settled if an official result is announced within 36 hours and will otherwise be considered void.
5.11.9 All bet offers related to uncompleted matches/events where the official governing body is not previously acknowledged (e.g. Club Friendlies) will be declared as void unless at least 90% of the stipulated Regular/Full time is played, see in < 5.7.1>. Should the match/event be abandoned after 90% has been completed, the settlement will be based on the current score at the time when the match/event was stopped.

Dont quite see why you think 5 Dimes rule is stupid, seems the correct way to go. Who knows what might have happened in the last few minutes, two minutes normal time left, plus several minutes of stoppage time. Seen teams pull two goals back in the last few minutes, more than once.

in this case, of course the rule is stupid... I lost 544 eur
Otherwise, I find it annoying that different bookies have different set of rules, I am for returning money if there is no official result (as in this case).
I am also frustrated by different tennis rules in case of game forfeit (which is often the case in case of injury) - sometimes you get money back, and sometimes it is based on which player forfeited, and sometimes it depends on current score...
This 2 rules alone have cost me 1000 eur in pinnacle last September, and around 800 eur in Unibet last August/September...
So, yes, I am for returning money in case not whole game was played ... in general

'Unlucky', that's all there is to it unfortunately, I think you could argue for/against both of the rule sets you mentioned and make it sound convincing, the only 'fair' thing would be if all bookies enforced the same rules, which obviously they don't and aren't obliged to.
You mentioned Tennis, that seems to be much more of a hit/miss affair and is more of an issue because of the number of times tennis rules get called into play. FWIW there is a thread on the forum about tennis rule differences:

The tennis rule at a lot of bookies is nonsense. If the match has started, and a player retires, the other player is the winner. Its as simple as that. There is no reason why bets should be voided in this instance.
If a boxer quits mid fight, he is treated as a loser. Whats the difference?

There is a big difference, if player in tennis forfeits there are 4 different outcomes, in some bookies even depending on the score that was valid when one of the players retired.

anyhow, 5 dimes rule that game is voided when fans stop the game due to frustration in 88th minute... is stupid...well, this fat guy owns me 500 eur
