Does anyone know of a resource that compares the tennis rules of different bookies?
Hello, i dont know of a specific site that lists the rules but this list was E-mailed to me at the start of Wimbledon. Bets stand at the following bookmakers when......
Ball Served =
First Set Completed =
Two sets completed =
Match Completed =
They can obviously change at any time though.
Have a plan and stick to it

Further to my question above and Andy's post I came across this: OddsAndBets - Getting Started - Bookmaker Rules - Tennis which distributes bookies by rules
Thanks for this, it was just what I was looking for with the U S Open looming.

I was just placing a few bets during the French Open on various tennis matches and discovered that I hadn't checked that the rules matched up on what constitutes a game - especially when one player retires through injury.
With Wimbledon now starting and some of you possibly considering using it for matching I thought I'd sift through the small print and see which bookies are safe to match/dutch with which.
1.First up, these are ONLY correct for betting on the outcome of a tennis match. There may be further differences within more specific markets such as "correct score", "set betting" etc etc.
2. I started noticing that very occasionally there is a difference in other details such as "changing from outdoor to indoor" (usually bets still stand but I saw at least one where this would void them) which is something that may apply to Wimbledon on an odd occasion this year now that the Centre Court has been given a roof.
Anyway, I may or may not go back through (my eyes are killing me right now!) the small print and check on this too but i'd advise to check yourselves if it's something you may worry about.
3. Obviously these are only books I have done, please post up any I've missed(lacking severely in US books)! I'm also waiting for email clarifications for a couple and will edit as I receive replies.
Bets stand when the whole match is completed
Bets stand when 2 sets are completed
Bets stand when 1 set is completed
Bets stand after 1 game has been played
Bets stand after 1 point has been played
*(not 100% convinced, the wording is horrific: ‘In the event of a participant withdrawing after the start of a tennis match, the respective bets will be deemed void if at the time of suspension they are still not decided as winning or losing (i.e. First Set and First Set Exacta will be settled if the first set has ended)). I emailed for clarification and they just quoted that back at me
Obviously if you can dutch like-for-like then tennis matched betting is fine. Personally I try to avoid these problems by sticking to set betting, first set winner bets or similar.
Pinnacle Sports Tennis Rule Change
*Effective 25 February 2010
One full set must be completed for wagers to stand. If less than 1 set is completed, all wagers will be considered void.
Please consult the rules section for Tennis, including Live Tennis, rules changes.
Previously their rule was for 2 sets to be completed for bets to stand.
