Been dabbling in (very) low level trading over the last month or so, and although I havent made a mint, i have learned some lessons along the way, probably not groundbreaking stuff but still I'll share it.
Oz and US horse racing isn't great for a newbie trader, only a late glut of action isn't helpful for someone learning the ropes with the geeks toy,
Never go in play, can take a while to recoup losses with small stakes.
When laying the draw with a view to back after a goal, 0-0 insurance is worth it, and has let me trade out with a small profit, just before half time with no goal scored more than once. (although after bottling it, a goal is invariably scored)
As I said, I have been trying things out more than lookin to make a packet and have decided to concentrate on footy, with the dawn of the new season.
I have noticed a weakness in myself that after selecting a few games where the method works I get a bit lapse and I try to apply it to any old game, and invariably make a loss.
Maybe this thread could provide some discussion to collaborating to identifying standout games which are more than likely goind to be a strong trading opportunity.
for example people could suggest games and give a brief rationalle as to why they believe that will be a good chance to trade and hopefully we 'wannabe' traders will get on it and make a couple of quid.
Through my limited research I have found that games boasting strong favourites (around 1.5) seems to be a good starting points to trade in this way, so will be looking for some decent trades in the Premiership with the big six, especially when at home. This also gives more clout to bunging a £2 insurance on 0 - 0 as that will usually have a higher price in these games (although obviously takes a chunk of any profit made, especially at small stakes)
of course the downside to these trades are if the under dogs score, which will reduce the price of a draw, however this allows some outs with the favourites having chance to bag two, or the underdogs holding on.
So lets have some suggestions for the games you might have a pop at trading this weekend.
