Daily Betting Brief with Betfred – Jan 13

We pick out some the day’s best bets with Betfred as they look at Horse Racing, Boxing and…Love Island.

Love Island… in winter?!

If, somehow, you missed it – Love Island is back on our TV screens. But it’s the winter edition (that doesn’t mean everyone’s sitting around in big fluffy coats by the way), and it’s South Africa instead of Menorca, and Laura Whitmore not Caroline Flack.

After last night’s episode, Mike Boateng is favourite to be the top male, at 2/1, and Sophie Piper for the ladies, at 5/2 – while Callum Jones & Shaughna Phillips and Connor Durman & Sophie Piper are 7/2 joint-favourites to be the winning couple at this early stage.

It’s back tonight – pretty much every night, in fact – and you can find all the latest odds, including a couple of specials for the show, here.

Racing

Punchestown has sadly been abandoned because of a storm, but we’ve still got three meetings at SouthwellLingfield and Wolverhampton to enjoy today.

And one runner that really stands out is Philip Kirby’s Epsom Des Mottes, at 6/4 currentlyin the 3.10 Lingfield.

The gelding responded extremely well to the application of first-time cheekpieces last time out at Ayr, where he won a very similar race to this off a mark of 77 by a massive 14 lengths. That was on heavy ground, he encounters similar today, and he escapes a penalty for that incredibly comfortable victory.

Kirby’s yard is in brilliant form lately, and this is his only engagement – the same can be said for jockey Thomas Dowson – at a track he is a rare visitor at. He should at least go close.

You can find the full programme for today’s racing, including all the latest odds, here.

Wilder – Fury 2

Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury will meet face-to-face tonight at 10pm in the first press conference ahead of their much-anticipated world heavyweight championship rematch on February 22.

At the moment, Fury is the 8/11 favourite, with Wilder 11/10 – and the Draw 22/1.

Will tonight’s inevitable mind games have a say on the odds? Don’t miss it.
