Mata strike sends United through

Juan Mata’s second-half strike was enough to send Manchester United into the last eight of the Europa League.

Mata’s goal came 20-minutes from time and was enough to give them a 1-0 win over Rostov, which gave them a 2-1 aggregate success.

United had come close in the first-half with Zlatan Ibrahimovic hitting the woodwork twice whilst Henrikh Mkhitaryan should have scored when clean through.

Sergio Romero also had to be on good form to twice deny Rostov, but it was United who found a way through with Mata to book their place in the quarter-finals.

With United moving into the last eight, their odds on winning the Europa League have been shortened further, and they are now 11/8 with BetVictor.
