  • 1st prize: £50+1yr sub to BetTrader
  • 2nd prize: £40
  • 3rd prize: £30
  • 4th prize: £20

Traders will have until 4th August 2009 to submit their final profit and loss totals - your final overall total for the whole month..

See ‘Prize Winning T&C’ below for details. The prizes will be awarded in the first week of August 2009.

Default How do I take part?

To take part in the challenge you must be an active member of the forum and register for the challenge using the process detailed below. Once your registration has been confirmed you will be provided with one month’s free subscription to BetTrader which will give you full access to the ladder interface throughout the duration of the challenge. The BetTrader one month free subscription will start on 1st July 2009.

Please follow the registration process very carefully – anyone whose registration is not confirmed WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE PRIZES OR OBTAIN THE £25 FREE SUBSCRIPTION TO BETTRADER.

Registration Process
The registration process entails registering for a new Betfair account using the process detailed below. Once your registration has tracked and been confirmed, you can then go on to receive the one month's free BetTrader sub and take part in the challenge to win the prizes on offer.

Betfair trading account registration
Please follow the steps below very carefully to register your new Betfair account:
  1. Clear all your cookies from your web browser – if possible, use a different browser from the one you usually use. This will help to ensure that your registration tracks correctly and your inclusion in the challenge is confirmed more quickly. See here for more information on how to clear your web browser cookies if you are unsure how to do this. Note this is very important, if your registration does not track you will not be able to take part!
  2. Click here to take you to the Betfair registration page (or right click the link, copy it and paste it in the URL bar if you're using another browser!)
  3. Click on ‘Join Now’ to take you to the registration page.
  4. For your username, optionally start it ‘tgtTrading’ – so mine would be ‘tgtTradingMunk’. For the security minded you might want to add some digits on the end as well to mix it up a bit.
  5. Complete the registration form and when asked ‘Do you have a Promotion or “Refer and Earn” code?’, enter the code: 4A3VQNWDH
  6. Submit the completed registration form.
  7. When you deposit, please deposit £50.xx - where xx is the number next to your name in the first post above (so for example I would deposit £50.03) - this will increase the chances of us being able to track your registration massively).
Finally after completing the steps above, send me an email with the subject ‘TGT Trading Details - [put your tgt forum name here]’ (please add your forum username in the subject) and a message containing the following details (please copy/paste and complete the following):

Code:
Date TGT Challenge Betfair account registered:
TGT Forum username:
TGT Challenge Betfair account username:
Full Name:
Country:
Amount Deposited:
If you can also set your Betfair forum 'chat name' to 'tgttMunk' (obviously use your forum username!), that will be the way to 100% identify your registration. Note - to do this you need to have completed the ID verification process and deposited(?). If you can do this it would be great, please just make sure you start the challenge in July with just £50 float though!

With these details I can check that your registration has tracked correctly (the Betfair forum chatname method in the previous paragraph will do it 100% pretty much). Once your registration is confirmed as tracked, you will see a new icon next to your username:

Once you see that you are confirmed and ready to go - your Betfair username will be forwarded to Adam at RacingTraders to get your one month free trading subscription added. Note the free one month BetTrader subscription will run from July 1st to July 31st 2009.

If you have any queries about any of this please read through the Trading Challenge Q&A thread in the first instance and if you still have a query feel free to post a question in that thread. Alternatively if it's a private matter you can send me a PM.

Importantly please make sure your Betfair account starts with a £50 float only on or after July 1st.

Default Obtaining your one month free subscription to BetTrader

As mentioned above, Adam at Racing Traders has very kindly offered everyone taking part in the trading challenge one month’s free subscription to the BetTrader ladder interface (worth £25!) for the duration of the challenge in July 2009.

Once you have completed the previous step for registering your Betfair Trading challenge account and the registration has been confirmed (look for the icon after your name), please read the post here from Adam which details how to get your one month free subscription to BetTrader:

http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...41-post37.html

If you use the account before 1st July that is fine, but please ensure you start July with just £50 in your account.

To download the BetTrader software please use the following link:

BetTrader - Betfair Trading Software - RacingTraders.com

After downloading the software, install it on your PC and you are all ready to go for the challenge. Note if you have already installed BetTrader then that is fine.

NOTE:
The one month free subscription will not start until the start of July.

Again, if you use your account prior to July 1st, please remember to make sure you start July with just £50 in the account so everyone starts at the same point.

Default Starting the challenge

The challenge will officially start on July 1st 2009 and end on July 31st 2009. All challengers must start with the same £50 float in their Betfair accounts between 1st – 31st July 2009. You may be required to verify this later if you are a prize winner, so please please do make sure you start from just £50 in July.

If your balance reaches zero you are effectively ‘out’ of the challenge – specifically, anyone who re-deposits will not be eligible for prizes.

Notes:
Only trade with what you can easily afford to lose.

Default Funding your Betfair trading account

Whilst it is perfectly legitimate under the Betfair terms and conditions to have more than one Betfair account per person, unfortunately you can only use each funding method once across all of your accounts. So for example if you have a debit card registered on one Betfair account, you cannot use that same debit card to fund another Betfair account.

If you have used all your ‘spare’ cards, you can use Moneybookers by simply using a new email address to deposit into the new Betfair trading account with:
  1. Login to your Moneybookers account.
  2. Click ‘Profile' and then on the profile page click on ‘[Add/Remove]’ where it says ‘LIST OF EMAIL ADDRESSES’.
  3. Enter the new email address where it says ‘Add email address’ and click ‘[Add]’.
To deposit into your Betfair trading account you can now just use the new Moneybookers email address. YOUR REGISTERED EMAIL ADDRESS AT BETFAIR AND THE NEW MONEYBOOKERS EMAIL ADDRESS YOU ARE DEPOSITING WITH MUST BE THE SAME!

Notes:
It is advisable to set your primary email address at Moneybookers to that which you are using to fund your Betfair account – you can do this on your Moneybookers ‘Profile > Add/Remove Email addresses’ page – just click on ‘Primary’ next to the email address that you want to make primary. You do not need to keep this email address as primary forever - just for those times that you make any deposit or withdrawal into Betfair (although it may not even be necessary but I know personally I have had deposits into Betfair not go through because I've not used my primary Moneybookers email address to deposit with).

Default Terms and conditions

GENERAL T&C
  1. The trading challenge will run from 1st July 2009 until 31st July 2009.
  2. You must register for the challenge using the process described above. You will be informed via email when your registration has been confirmed and that you are eligible to win the prizes on offer. If you do not receive registration confirmation, you will not be eligible to win any prizes.
  3. All entrants must start with a £50 float on or after 1st July 2009. You may make your initial £50 deposit at any time, but you must start July with a float of just £50. Entrants may be required to verify this by submitting Betfair statements and anyone found to have started with more than £50 float will not be eligible for the prizes on offer. The newly registered Betfair account MUST be used to place all trades that qualify for the competition - users who do not use their Betfair trading account will not be eligible to win prizes.
  4. Entrants who redeposit (ie anyone who make a second further deposit in addition to the initial deposit) during the course of challenge will not be eligible for the overall prize fund. They will however be eligible to win the weekly trade of the week prizes.
  5. You will be considered to have exited the challenge and you will not be eligible for the overall prize fund if your balance reaches zero.
  6. In all issues regarding the challenge, TheGamblingTimes’ decision will be final.

PRIZE WINNING T&C

    • £10 for 5th place
  2. In addition the 1st place winner will receive one year’s free subscription to BetTrader courtesy of Racing Traders (worth £150). This prize is not transferable for cash.
  3. The five overall prizes for trader of the month will be given to those people who have made the five largest profits from the initial £50 during the period 1st – 31st July 2009.
  4. Overall prize claims must be received on the forum before 4th August 2009.
  5. Overall prize winners will be announced on the forum between 4th – 7th August 2009.

The winning trade of the week submission must be in the spirit of the challenge - ie a single back bet that wins at 10/1 will not count for the trade of the week etc. In the event of any dispute, adjudication of the winning trade will rest solely with TGT.
  3. The weekly prize periods will run up to and including each Sunday in the month of July – 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th July 2009.
  4. To be eligible for the weekly prizes you must submit your claim on the forum no later than 00:00 BST on the Tuesday following the dates mentioned above.
  5. Weekly prizes will be announced on the Wednesday following the dates mentioned above.
  6. All weekly winning entrants may be required to submit their FULL Betfair ‘Betting Profit & Loss’ statement for the corresponding week period (available via Betfair ‘My Account > Betting Profit & Loss’ page, please TICK the 'Off' next to 'average odds' to display ALL trades made on that market) to confirm their winning status. Additionally a screenshot(s) of the account statement should be sent in as well including the winning market ((available via Betfair ‘My Account > Account Statement’ page).
