    A great introduction, thanks Grandthrax.

I've been having a look on t'interweb at how to trade on football matches and the information I've found recommended finding a football match with a clear favourite and laying the draw, then when the favourite (hopefully) takes the lead back the draw at higher odds. I had a non money trial run the other day on a brazil match in the confederation cup:

    Lay £20 at 6.2 - risk £104
Brazil score after 5 minutes increasing the draw odds
    Bet £11.8 at 10.5 for £8.9 profit

With a stop loss of £5 if the odds on the draw drop to 5

Thanks for that, I might give it a go.

The question is will you be making more £5 losses than £8.9 profits?

Ok I had a little think about this and I don't think it wil work. It seems too technical and too simple. A bot could do it:

if favourites odds > something. Lay draw. If draw drops to 5 back. Else if draw rises to 6.2 back. etc

If a bot could do it and this stratergy is available in a public place then there will be bots that do do it. lots of people/bots following this stratergy will push the draw price up until it is no longer profitable in the long term, ie to small profits from wins to cover your losses.

Just my logic, please pick holes.

It does seem to simple but I don't see why it wouldn't work either....

Planning to try on the Spain v Iraq game in a bit

Well, tried it on the Spain v Iraq game. Made a whopping £2.41 mainly because I bottled it and just took the back very soon after Spain scored. I think there is money to be made with this method but for those who aren't as chicken as me

I've just tried it on the new zealand game.

Layed £10 before kickoff at 5.9
15-20 minutes in 0-0, draw back odds had drifted around 5.7 - 5.8
21 mins south africa score. Draw odds lengthen to 11.5
30 mins draw odds lengthen to 16 (I back £3.5)
The odds shortened to 12 towards halftime
I managed to make £6.5 and would've made £3.5 if the match had ended as a draw

Looking back the the odds on SA, had I backed £50 at 1.33 before kickoff I could've laid at odds of 1.09 and made about £11 but I wasn't sure how far the odds would drop.

If only our foresight was as good as our hindsight...

Laid £25 @ 4.5 on the draw between USA and Brazil
Brazil just scored, odds now of draw are 9.2
Do I hang on or do I wimp out again....

    Yep

By my maths, a £1.42 back (it's now @80) will give me £22 either way. Might just leave it go, they won't come back from 2-0....
