well......I'd question that! You see, I did my first bit of trading last night and there was never a small loss! It was immediately big! But, then, I guess that's what happens when you think of a in-play "system" that won't lose...At least it was only a £12 loss from a £2 lay. My lay was at 9 and I expected the odds to drift. A goal was scored and the back odds dropped to 3...and then another goal so the odds dropped to 1.62.

It was only £12...£88 left in my trading fund although I'll top it up to £100 again as the £12 loss was a "test"

The £12 was the small loss, it would have been big if you had chased to get it back and gone on to lose the £100 trying. Its all relative. 12% of your bankroll is a blow certainly but its not going to be a blow from which you will never recover.

Also what were you trading in-play? Horses in-play can be very volatile, especially near the end of the race. It isn't unusual for odds to go from 1.5 to 20 and back to 1.5 in a couple of seconds.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before but there is a decent beginners section here:

    Betfair | Education | 3 Trading

EDIT: They aint that great and just point out the obvious, probably better sticking to racingtraders.com

Peter Webb's post Tennis trading for dummies Bet Angel Blog has some low-risk tennis trading tips.

And this one from yesterday is interesting regarding why we exit when we do Look over your shoulder Bet Angel Blog

Hopefully it's still o.k to link to BetAngel sites since we've got this deal with BetTrader.

Intersting article on the blog. I wonder how much of the change in price movement is due to traders trying to get in on the movement.

    Hi.

If the odds of a horse is going up does that mean somewhere else price of another horse is always going down?

    Jim.

If the book (over round) was already at 100%, then yes.
