I did start trading just after you reported this last time, but I couldn't see any problem I'm afraid betting over 2-3 races. I know someone else (Gibber I think?) was complaining on the chatbox about Betfair behaving erratically today, could be the same thing?

Well I decided to give it a break and have just traded one race, unfortunately the problem is still there. It feels like a problem with bettrader as opposed to betfair. It is no longer letting me drag a bet from one tick to another Also it is often placing bets of £10 instead of £5 and sometimes doesn't cancel an unmatched bet.

Ooh, nightmare! Thank God we've all got separate accounts for this trading lark.

That's very odd then sorry to hear about that. I can only suggest re-installing it or perhaps testing it out on another account / PC (although you wouldn't have the ladder on the other account).
I have noticed problems with BetTrader but nothing of the kind you're talking about - usually it's to do with a really laggy network connection - if you look in the top left you can see the lagometer, my 'normal' connection runs around 50ms, but sometimes if it's really lagged it jumps up to 3000ms (3 seconds) - when it's like that the performance of BetTrader is really awful and laggy and some 'odd' things do happen because of it.
The other problem I've had recently is that it takes a long time to exit BetTrader and I often end up having to kill the process manually... but that's obviously not the same problem you've got.
Sorry can't help more, check out the lag situation first and then maybe try reinstalling or using it on another machine to see if it makes any difference?

Be careful where you click! One errant click on bet trader as you try to centre the ladder could be disastrous. Nearly happened to me tonight.

I had a similar problem in that I'd place a bet and nothing would happen after 30 seconds I thought it hadn't placed the bet (it wasn't unmatched either and the lag was ok) so I placed it again; 10 seconds after that bang another went it, left me right up the creek - this has happened twice now.
As Munk said as well I also suffer quite a few times with the dreaded 3000 lag which can be annoying trading on the horsies 10 mins before the off!
Generally though the product is excellent but there is the odd time.....

Disaster on the tennis yesterday.
Had been doing rather well during the week (though hadn't had that much opportunity to trade, so maybe that was the key!). Anyway yesterday, the Matthieu v Cuevas match, I managed to be on the wrong side the whole way through.
Started off backing Matthieu, and he just kept getting worse and worse, and I kept waiting for him to get at least a little better. Then, when he was a set and a break down, and we were heading firmly for a solid loss, I made the sensible decision to hedge the bet for a loss of £20 each way. Not pleased, but I knew it had to be done. THEN, of course, he started playing brilliantly! So then I thought I'd risk at most another £5 to see if I could rescue the situation and - you know what's coming of course - I ended up on the wrong side of that too, so a net loss of almost £25, and my balance is down to £30.
Not a happy bunny.

I traded quite a lot yesterday and had no more problems...
