What to do with my TGT betfair trading account after july?
It is now nearing the end of the trading challenge, and i must admit I never really got into it all that much. Partly due to the fact I could only trade after 6.30 most nights and partly because my internet connection isn't great for trading on horses.
So, i have around £80 in my account and i'm looking for ideas for what to do with it. I was thinking of randomly laying until i double or (much more likely ) bust. But that is a bit random and not really very smart!
I had tinkered with the idea of setting aside some cash to mug bet on arbs over the football season, but i would've been using betfair as a benchmark for what constitutes an arb so that wont work in this case.
Does anyone have any interesting ideas or strategies? I realise that there are no real goldmine strategies and i am fully prepared to lose this cash. Just looking for ideas that will keep me ticking over for a few weeks with money that i am prepared to lose!

I will use mine to keep trading if and when I do. Probably whenever I am infront of the TV and something is on and I fancy a dabble on it. Big Soccer matches, and big Sporting Tournaments, "fun" events such as Eurovision too, all are great fun making £s on but I would not want to risk any of my real Betfair balances messing about on it, so will use that little account. (Which I have reloaded after busting ouy once).
I dont have one set strategy I will use, I will just play it by ear. The usual idea is scalping the Draw though, or lay the leader, i am a fan of both of those.
Have a plan and stick to it

Yeah, I'm going to keep mine open, too. I haven't exactly shone in the trading stakes, but it's fun, and this way you keep it well away from your "real" money.

Well one of the first things I'm going to do is do the casino bonus there, I think it's a 100% to £50 bonus with 30x wagering. Defo worth a go. After that I'll be using the account as my main account, mainly because I'm using my other account as long term arbing account.

Will there be another one of these in the future Andy or munk?
Maybe one for September. I would be up for it, plus the proper footie season will be up and running full time so plenty of opportunities to trade whilst watching quality Premiership footy live on the box.

I couldn't say to be honest, it's been a real headache to administrate but at the same time it has been fun... so wouldn't rule it out 100% but then again I don't know if it will be back whilst the football is on, there are easier promotions to run for the football really. Have a look around for the tipping contest with tod1999 that looks very interesting. There's also another similar idea by StereoMike for you to back your own team through the new season.

I will definately be keeping this as my trading account now. The advantage of keeping this separate is the when looking at results in the account summary, when you have been trading you can build up hundreds of results in there and it is difficult to find your arbing or bagging results quickly. So keeping this separate will keep my main one readable and simple.
Have a stick and plan to use it - A LOT!!!

Hi Lucky,
I wondered where you had got to. Have you managed to find your way back to success at the horses yet?

I think Andy's idea is a good one and something I'll do also. I have no set strategies (except the well known ones) but will experiment more in the over/unders market on live footie also.
I don't want the temptation of using my main balance for trading fun events, or when I'm watching events on the TV. Although I'm pretty disciplined, there’s always the temptation to do something silly if you’ve got a load of cash burning in a whole in your virtual pocket.
I’m going to withdraw my initial deposit and just keep the winnings in there. I’ll be optimistic and say if it’s still running by xmas, I’ll take out 50%. If it’s still running, but hasn’t increased much, I’ll keep it going until the end of the football season.
I'll only be using small amounts (much smaller than used during the challenge), so I shouldn't risk being blown out too soon, and I don't want my enjoyment of watching something spoiled by a loser.

I've just had a look and the casino intro bonus is here:
http://content.betfair.com/content/e...ge/FDB_En.html
100% to £50, 30xB WR
So will probably have a go at that tomorrow.
