Do any TGT members trade regularly?
I was just wondering if any guys on TGT actually trade regularly. I had a look at Geeks Toy today and was pretty impressed with what I saw, with it being free and all. Is there a profit to be made if you are persistent and learn what your doing? Obviously i'm not talking about any so-called strategies just good old hard work.
I did a bit for pennies when I first started MBing and quite enjoyed it but realised I could mkae a lot more doing bonuses instead.

I trade cricket mostly and football. I'm good at trading cricket and shit at trading football. I'm going to try to watch a game without trading it (no will power).
Cricket though is good, particularly England games IMO. Today for example, England were 1.2 before the game started, waaaaay too short. Bangladesh aren't the mugs they once were and England are always prone to a slip-up, particularly as Strauss is not captaining the side, our premier fast bowler is injured, and KP is woefully out of form. Sure enough Bangladesh started well and England eventually crept out to about 1.6. I missed the boat as was queued to back them at 1.7 and was looking after the kids. Came out with minimal profit, but could've been much better. Still its all useful info for the next game. Thats the beauty of trading cricket, several games between the same opponents, a long period of time to correct balls ups and individuals who's success or failure can reallly effect the price during the game.
I wondered if we could have threads on this board for individual events and people could share how they trade it. Be great to see how other people go about it, rather like the betfair forum but less name calling obviously.

Go for it! Hopefully some other traders will join in on the particular thread and it'll make for an interesting read as you say

Just a pity this part of the forum is so lowdown on the list, i think people dont notice it.
There are a few trading forums and blogs around if you browse google.
As regards to making money, there are some blogs you can look at where people are making hundreds daily.
One (in)famous one is by Adam Heathcoat. He makes so much that many people dont think hes real, but you can make your own mind up.
Even recently there was a football trader called psychoff who made (i think) $500,000 in a year and was going for a million this year untill he mysteriously stopped his blog after many people were accusing him of being fake.
Even on a similar forum to this there is a thread purely about laying the draw in football where some of the regulars claim to make £30k per year purely from that strategy. Pretty feasible if you select your matches correct etc

how does that work then?

It probably relies on the fact that there are very few matches that end with no goals, thus the basic theory will no doubt be to lay the draw at the start of the match. Once a goal is scored, the trader would hope that the price moves out which I assume is the point when they would place the back bet and green up accordingly.
All very well in theory.......

I spent many hours trying to make money at trading the horses. Did my pieces everyday. What I have noticed is that all the "good traders" submit to a forum or blog, talking a lot but saying nothing,if that makes sense. PW sells Bet Angel so he would say you can make money trading. The Badger says the same and sells a manual for newbs. Adam Heathcote claims 150 to 300k a year but wants you to subscribe to his service for c£60? a month. Is there a pattern? I do know of one person that can make money trading and seems ethical but he now works in the city and has never sold or told anyone, including me. I suspect its taking small losses quickly and running your profits. Easier said than done.

Hope for the best: and prepare for the worst.

I've been trying last couple of days to write something about trading , but writing is not my strong point . I don't really know if i do trading or just gambling , if i back a team to win and they are winning i will lay to lose nothing and green up on the team only , im not sure if thats defined as trading or not .
I think the most important thing you need to know when trading is what will happen to the price if A) home team score B) Away team score C) no goal D) sendings off
I calculate these roughly in my head and decide weather to back something initially as a value lay or back and then i might green up .
I always give myself "outs" by outs i mean if im backing a cert with big money it would have to have a couple of outs .
Example - Man Utd last night 3-1 up a man sent off were 1.22
Example 2 - Liverpool 1-0 up on birmingham were 1.24
I would back man utd because , if bayern scored i was still in it , it there was no goal i was still in it and if Utd scored i was still in it , so i had a few outs as i call them .
I would lay liverpool because if liverpool scored i was looking at losing maybe 12-15 per hundred , but i had would not back liverpool because if birmingham scored its over really .
I think "outs" over in my head alot so if i was starting off trading id always do an offer now like Vcbet "refund if your selection is beaten by tiger woods" you have an advantage straight away , you can put 50 on anyone and hope they come in in price if not then you have another out that they only have to finish ahead of tiger( easier said than done obviously ) but you get the gist , why not mug mickleson or someone decent , rather than trade an event with no outs .
So practice trade on all the offers available would be my advice , and just because something is 1.1 doesnt mean its going to win , you have to decide what the correct price is , i back bets at 1.02 and 1.01 cause sometimes there value , if your going to take a 1% arb it can be easier to take a 1.01 .
