England v Egypt : trading thread

Ok anyone interested in trading the game tonight?

If so post up your strategy, stake size etc and we can edit our posts as we go.

All in the name of helping each other, sharing theories etc.

I'll update my post accordingly through the game, hopefully won't be talking to myself .....

    Edit:
Pre-match I'm backing the draw and looking to trade out after 26 minutes. Then will get involved again at half time. Thats the plan at the minute anyway

    B draw £20 @ 5.2

    16 mins: L draw £20 @ 4.6

    21 mins B Egypt £2 @ 9.0

    31 mins L Egypt £2 @ 2.9

    40 mins B England £10 @ 3.0

    57 mins L England £10 @ 1.89

England have now just gone 2-1 up and I was considering backing them again but bottled it as I don't fully trust them. Hey ho, I'm done now green screen as follows:

    Eng +10.55
    Egy +11.59
    Draw +11.40

Cheers to everyone else who posted here, interesting theories. Ah 3-1 now, procrastination is thief of time (and profit)

Im laying England tonight for £100 with a view to trade out at double the price. IMO the price is too short, the patriotic pound has pushed the price down as it always does when England play. Egypt have just won the African cup and are certainly no mugs.

When I trade footie I always like to have an exit price in mind should the trade go against me, but with the price so low at 1.45 should England score first the price will probably crash to around 1.15-1.20 so no point in trading out for a loss. So my risk will be £45 with the potential to hedge out for £50 should I get 2.90 some point during the game.

Watch England spank them 4-0 now I've said all that.

I am not a trader so this is going to likely be a naive general view but I'll share it nonetheless!

In the press conference, I think I heard an Egyptian journalist describe that, to Egypt, this game was 'historical' so a result would be magnificent for them. They have some decent players and with their recent successes together with the air of uncertainty surrounding the English team with the off-field events, I too would feel the current English price looks a bit short.

However, my instinct wouldn't be to get on the England lay now and hope for the drift during the game since it wouldn't surprise me if those first 20-30 minutes are the very ones Capello has highlighted as being all important more than ever in showing unity and getting everyone back on side behind the team. The time I would likely get involved would be if England are leading by a goal at half time. With likely substitions (friendly after all) to come and knowing how often disjointed we can become, you'd hopefully be taking a short England lay price at the time they might start being unable to control possession etc whilst the crowd are naturally expecting more.

So yes, my rather 'innocent' strategy based on nothing more than er, hoping we take and early goal, it's a 1 goal lead at half time and then Egypt score... then I get out and England win in the 89th minute.

Right, kick off soon approaches and ive laid for £50 instead of £100 to start off with. Just seen the teams and I think England might come out of the blocks especially with Rooney and Defoe at front who are in good form and seeing that Egypt are playing 3 at the back they might get exposed early on. Good luck to all trading the game. :-)

    I have backed U2.5 at 2.1.

May take a position on the result in-play, I want to back England, but can't bring myself to do so at 1.46. If after half an hour it's still 0-0 I will probably lay off the U2.5 and back England.

    --

    20 mins in -

More open game than I expected, traded out of the U2.5 at 1.7, will look to back England if they aren't winning coming up to half time.

    --

    30 mins - 0-1

Small back on draw at 3.5

    --

    Half-time - 0-1

    Backed england @ 3.15

    --

Ended up screwing up a bit by laying england immediately after they equalised! Still green all round (+green on the 2.5 market) but not as good as it could have been!

Ive just traded out of u2.5 for a £5 loss either way....was waiting for the odds to drop to 1.5 but egypt scored and can see some more goals going in so traded out @ 2.32

Also made 72p green on the correct score market....Skills like that are top secret though

Bottled my England lay now and traded out at 2.9.....which means £23.75 whatever the outcome now on match odds

I backed England for £10 @ 3.1 just after half time so my results now stand at
    England:+£43.70
    Egypt or Draw:+£14.25

    CS Market: +76p
    Under2.5: -£5.20

That will do me nicely, just traded out for a nice green screen. Could of waited for 2.90 but for the sake of £2.25 took the profit. Now I can sit and watch the game with a cold beer

A good thread and good to see some money being made! As for me, well England up by a goal at half-time never materialised so I remained diciplined and simply ate biscuits instead of creating a new strategy to make money. As my careers advisor used to say: 'if you can't get rich, get fat' which was poor advice for a kid with a high metabolism I have to say.
