Football Tipping Comp
Leaderboard is here:
http://www.thegamblingtimes.com/boar...aderboard.html
Hi to all you wonderful members of TGT...
I had an idea that i wanted to run a football tipping comp that was free to enter with cash prizes each month and yearly prizes.
Its nothing life changing I was thinking just £10 to the monthly winner and £5 to the runner up. I was thinking of having top 3 prize money for yearly comp of £50 to winner, £25 to the runner up and £10 for 3rd
The comp is FREE TO ENTER so will not cost you a penny, its just abit of fun with a litle incentive at the end
The way the comp will work is simple, 3 times a week (weds/sat/sun) there will be a football fixture put up and 4 different markets and you have to predict the outcome of each market...
the 4 markets are......
1X2: (home win, draw or away win)
HT/FT: (outcome at ht and outcome at ft)
overs/unders: (over 2.5 goals or under 2.5 goals)
correct score: (the correct score at ft)
5pts are awarded for correct 1X2
10pts are awarded for correct HT/FT
5pts are awarded for correct overs/unders
15pts are awarded for correct correct score
15 bonus points are included for anyone who gets all 4 correct
The yearly comp will run until the last day of may 2010
All tables and scores will be done by myself after every game and the next game put up the night before.
Could you please leave your interest for this comp below and if there is enough interest then we can go ahead and start on saturday 1st august
Hope this is ok with the admin here, and if not then feel free to take down the thread
over and out

Hi Tod great idea! seems like it would be good fun and I would definately take part in it, although I think maybe doing every day may be too much, for myself anyway and I personally would prefer if it was just maybe a weekend thing or couple of times a week just due to my own schedule etc.... and it would probably save you heaps of time in working out peoples scores etc every day too
That's just a personal preference though of course and if it is going to be every day, Ill still be happy to take part but prob won't be able to enter every day Hope you get lots of interest

I agree with srh1984 that every day may be just a bit too much. Weekend and possibly a midweek when CL is on. Anyway I'd give t a go although I'm away for 3 weeks in October which will count me out for the season long comp.
-
cheerz guys
eaustin being away for 3 weeks in oct wouldnt rule you out of season long comp, it would obviously rule you out of oct monthly one but from aug to may just missing 3 weeks you would still have more than enough games to get points on the board
I appreciate your thoughts on everyday being abit too much, the reason i said everyday is because i have everyday to myself
we shall what others think but maybe everyday is abit much as opeople do have hectic personal lives but i would want at least 3 days a week to get a good selection over the month.
if it is only once a week then that is only 4 maches a month and you would get alot of people on the same points and could end up with numerous people all at the top whereas if there is a minimum of 12 matches then there is alot more scope for people to have mixed scores
-
Todd my suggestion would be weekends - Saturday and Sunday and a midweek game when there are PL/CL or Euro League games (which will be most weeks).
Missing 3 weeks (say 9 games) will be a massive handicap over the season long comp, trust me!

Shouldn't correct score give more than 10 points ?

I'm up for this and everyday is fine with me.

ive gave it some thought and there will be 3 fixtures per week, one every saturday. one every sunday and one on either tues or weds
so 3 games per week with a maximum of 70pts per week up for grabs
-
That sounds like a very good idea tod, personally the 3 per week idea sounds good, every day might be a bit too much for most people... but then again if it's a point based challenge then if you're not in it you won't win it so ... whatever really.
Cheers.

Yup, sounds good Todd, count me in too!
