StereoMike's Show Us Your Colours Challenge

With less than 3 weeks until football finally returns, I have been thinking of a bit of a challenge to see whose team can justify the support that we give them! The simplest challenge would be to just back your team each match but that seemed a bit boring so the challenge that I have concocted is as follows:

Each user who wants to take part chooses their team. Ideally this will be the team that you support (so for me that will be the mighty Arsenal) but if you don't follow a team or you support S**rs then please feel free to pick anyone! To start a £5 bet will be placed on your team to win the first game of the season. From this point on, every competitive match that your team plays, you place half of your remaining pot on your team to win for every game of the season.

For example Arsenal start the season away to Everton and win odds at BF are currently 2.44. If we win then my pot will be £11.85 so for the following game I place a £5.93 bet. If they fail to win then my pot is £0 and I place a £5 bet.

Looking at last seasons statistics I reckon this method would have netted me about £30 profit for the season although at peaks the pot would have been almost £400!!

This is all for a bit of fun and to show our loyalties to our teams. You can place bets wherever you like to take advantage of best odds or to help with a WR etc.

I will probably post my results once a week and would be great if anyone else is interested in joining in! I will try and keep a summary in this first post of teams and if people supply me with it, current pots.

    Current players
    StereoMike - Arsenal
    Munk - Man Utd
    BruceMCC11 - AFC Wimbledon
    wndllll - Norwich City
    frosty85 - Man City
    Andy - Norwich City
    srh1984 - Arsenal
    blowingbubbles - West Ham
    Bella - Spurs
    hippocrates - Luton Town
    Grandthrax - West Ham

I like the sound of this. I'm not a massive football fan but in the past I have supported Man Utd for better or worse back as far as late 80s. I will put £5 on their first game.

I'm an AFC Wimbledon fan so will put a fiver on their 1st game to beat Luton Town at home. Hopefully we repeat our 1988 FA Cup semi-final win.

Hah! Sounds like you're just protecting your wallet there Munk. I was born and bred in Norwich but once saw a caravan with a Celtic sticker, so I'll be following them... ahh not really, the mighty Norwich City get my fivers. Oh dear.

I would like to join in, West Ham for me

The only thing is I would like to place my bets on the Asian Handicap market if thats ok? So West Ham are away to Wolves, I would like to bet on AH 0 which I can get at 2.086 at 12bet. So basically if the game draws I get another chance.

I have no problems people doubling up as the idea is to get behind your own team so have put you down for the mighty Arsenal srh (likewise we now have two guys for NCFC - There does seem a disproportionality high number of Canaries on these forums!!!)

In terms of going for an AH0 it is up to you. I'm going win only as I only ever want Arsenal to win and also odds are better but I have no problems if anyone wants to vary slightly!
