    Craig`s football picks 2009-2010 season

Here we go again...first bet of the season will be on the comunity shield, i`m not usually too keen on betting friendlies but the odds look appealing to me today.

Man U have been involved in two draws in the last two seasons with Portsmouth and Chelsea...I hate betting on the draw though so will lay Chelsea. Also I think Man U are value at 3.25 against ANY team so a small bet on a Man U win too.

Last couple of seasons I have staked the american way where if a selection is odds on you stake to win the specified units...this was just because when I first posted this was the fellas forum and frequented mainly by americans, as this is no longer the case I will now stake the english way....units specified will be units staked whether odds on or odds against.

    YTD:+0.00

    Sunday 9th August

2* Lay Chelsea at 2.6 (same as backing Man Utd +0.5 at aprox 1.62)
    1* Man Utd at 3.25

I have actually staked 3.2 units to win 2 units on the lay of Chelsea which looks like i`m contradicting myself with my staking explanation...I would normally have written this as 2* Man Utd +0.5 but that bet is not available on Betfair.

Good luck to all with your bets this season....looks like I will have some company/competition this year...looking forward to it enormously £££

    Monday 10th August

    Carling Cup

    3* Leeds United at 1.76

Whilst I am possibly a biased Leeds fan i think we should be far too strong for Darlington who finished mid table in league two last season, they also lost 3-1 away to Aldershot at the weekend....Leeds manager Simon Grayson has stated he will pick his strongest available team and definately wants to win this game.

When Grayson said he would field his strongest available side...he fibbed, still got the win though

    3* Leeds United at 1.76 +2.28 units

    YTD:+3.28 units

All odds are from betfair...as in previous yrs I will deduct 5% commission at the end of the season assuming I am in profit.

Yeah I was not best pleased when I saw no Beckford or Bechio in the starting line up...we were poor in the first half but clearly got a rollicking at half time and came out firing...should have killed em off really, happy with the win though

I`m away for the weekend so will get my bets up now.

    3* Everton +0.25 at 1.86
    1* Everton at 3.3

    2* Man City at 2.22

    2* Fulham at 2.86

    2* Burnley +0.5 at 1.98
    1* Burnley at 4.4

    2* West Ham at 2.82

    3* Totenham +0.25 at 1.92
    1* Totenham at 3.35

As it`s the first games of the prem I think there is value in some of the undergogs....I have lowered my stakes per unit (half usual size) for this weeks bets though..just in case it all goes horribly wrong.
