There are a fair few bonuses out there that some people (myself included) possibly don't bother with because of one of the following:
- Iffy book that I don't 100% trust
- Huge WR on the bonus
- Not possible, or at least not easily possible, to match out
Anyway, I've been thinking lately that a decent approach may be to start taking these bonuses to build up a little store of "mug betting" accounts. Obviously you still run the risk of not getting a payout (& if you win you may still have WR to complete) but those are problems you wouldn't mind having if you were mugging
And even allowing that such accounts may not always offer the best odds for mugging, if you stick to the large % bonuses (ideally 100% bonuses) you're getting such huge overlay that anyone with even passable judgement should come out in profit. (And even if you don't - well it's only money you would have mugged anyway isn't it.....?)
A few examples of the type of offers I'm thinking of:
- The recent Cashpoint 100% to 10e reload.
- The Zeturf signup & semi-regular reloads.
- Certain 100% freeplay bonuses offered by US sportsbooks
Don't forget, (as has been pointed out before), you don't need to take the full bonus at these places. If mugging a $100 freeplay style bonus isn't your thing, just deposit $20 or summat etc etc. (I think a lot of people lose out by taking an all or nothing approach to certain bonuses - i.e. if they can't go in for the full amount they don't do the offer at all - surely it's better to dip in for a small amount than to not do the offer at all).
Obviously this approach is fairly ideal for anyone who mugs anyway, but actually it should be +EV even for people who usually only MB. (Although clearly not risk-free).
Typed that pretty quickly so it may be a bit garbled but any thoughts?
