I'm convinced the gap between the best & worst teams in the world gets less each year; the days when the smaller nations were unfit part-timers are long gone IMO & I think this WC will be chock-full of shocks.

Since the African teams have plenty of world class players & will have fanatical support the like of which has never been seen, I think odds of nearly 20/1 are plenty of value. If South Korea can make the semis with home advantage, I'm very hopeful that at least one CAF team will get at LEAST that far. Either way it's a fun bet at nice odds that gives a direct or indirect interest in tons of the group stage matches.
That could be a good shout fella...there`s certainly a few with a decent chance of getting through their groups and the a little luck...anything can happen.

Alrighty then...time for my first game pick, not betting on the opener but fancy France to bt Uruguay. Looking at the France group games I will prob have a couple of units on all of their group games, expecting them to win at least two of the three.

    YTD:0.00

    Friday 11th June

France 2 units to win 2.40 units

GL Craig! I'm still stuck when it comes to France and Italy, might follow you on this one though. Domenech is such a joke of a coach but the talent on the pitch is still capable of beating most teams. Hmmm.

I was going to wrote the same, then I remembered that Craig had a much better record than me at tipping

But backing a shaky French team with a shaky manager against Forlan and Suarez wouldn't be my opening bet of the tournament. Need to see how France play first. A watching game for sure. I've got Uruguay down to win this group in my friendly office game of all filling in a wallchart before a game is kicked

Hmm, you're seriously backing Uruguay despite this?

That is exactly why France will win haha......seriously though France have better players all over the pitch than Uraguay imo...Forlan and Suarez are threats but I seem to remember Forlan not doing too well in the prem which is where half of the French team play including three of the probable back four. France are by no means a dead cert here but I think they are value at over evens.

Dominech is indeed a clown and some of the French team may be past their best and I dare say I won`t be backing them against the better teams in the last 16 and onwards.... I just don`t see them haing too many probs with this group simply due to their quality/experience on the pitch.
