Well this thread can be closed, i'm glad I laid the draw and didn't back Villa, also glad I didn't back Newcastle as if Villa scored the Pen I think they could easily have dominated.
Well done SD - as a Newcastle fan and resident I am delighted with the result all round although it was completely unexpected to be honest.
On a lighter note, the thread is called 'road to ruin' and I dont think you are quite there at the moment as you sip your champagne or what not!
However, from your last entry re closing the thread I assume you will not be lumping the bet plus winnings on tonights game! (publically at least.) You could open a whole new debate as to your next steps and whether you should quit while ahead, risk the winnings or risk the whole lot again.
It was good to read and contribute to the debate around your bet although whether you post any future bets remains to be seen.

Yea, whilst I don't mind the debate / opinions on the pick and how the game will play out I feel like some of the comments went beyond that so I won't be posting in future.
One thing I wouldn't be betting on is Liverpool vs Man City, both teams are so randomly spectacular or dire I just don't know how to call it.

Hmm, this is based off a number of things primarily I think if you offered Newcastle a 0-0 they would take it but I don't see Newcastle keeping Villa out and I don't see Newcastle scoring. If Newcastle let 1 in I expect them to try and get one back and get ripped to pieces similarly I expect if Newcastle scored they would retreat and try and hold on, it may be much easier to back villa but I feel that Newcastle are more likely to score in the type of situation that would make villa be at a disadvantage ie. Penalty etc. The fantastic home form in the championship to me just can't translate into suitable homeform in the prem IMO.
