Road to Ruin
I'm sure everyone who entered the "let's double up to £1000" thread remembers effectively EVERY prediction I made didn't come true lol. Well now is your chance to capitalize of it. With the permission of my OH I have decided to pick the result I don't think will happen and lay it.
The chosen result is the draw between Villa and Newcastle on Sunday
the stake is £2000 @ 3.45 = £4900 liability
Should I fail I won't do such a thing again, should I win I will probably re-invest the £1900 profit into some other hair brained high risk scheme.
But due to my previous predicting skill, I think the masses should rush in on the draw and make themselves rich lol.
Tense times for Dash indeed

SD is that all in?
AV 0 - 1 NU with 2 mins to go and AV are pressing HARD. would you be letting it run?
the above is from my MSE mentality and my risk averse nature.
i would never be in the position to have to make a late decision in the 1st place, just wandering your position.
good luck whatever you are doing.

I don't intend to watch the game, my nerves will result in me passing out lol. But in the eventuality that I am in the dying minutes and have odds of 5 on the draw say, depends who's ahead. Villa ahead Ill probably let it ride or die. Newcastle ahead I may back out to break even. Hopefully Newcastle score or Villa go 3 - 0 up in the first 10 mins
As Andy says, have a plan and stick to it, I'll probably let it ride.

I think this is lunacy and feel obligated to try and talk you out of this gambling madness.
If you want to randomly gamble £5K why not find a casino cashback offer or worst ways do it at a casino that may give you a bonus should you lose?
And why this game? I could understand if you had knowledge and rational argument like Eoin does. But what are you basing this lay on?
Have you even looked at the stats and the form? Newcastle won a lot of games last season so without looking it up presumably their home form was good. But ofcourse they are playing a better quality opponent.
OK they've just got beat 3-0 at United. If you were Chris Hughton what would you do? We all know Villa are very strong away and are lethal on the counter. So with guys like Joey Barton, Kevin Nolan and Alan Smith in midfield you would expect Newcastle to play it very tight and not push players forward. I mean if you offered him 0-0 now he would take it I'm sure. What you can't afford when you've just come up is a run of defeats. And if they over-commit Newcastle will likely get beat.
Villa will have no Milner. And Agbonglahoor is only just coming back from a pre season injury. Carew was out of form on Sat. Ashley Young is always a massive threat ofcourse but we don't even know the team news yet.
This really is the stupiest thing I have read on here. It's easy to say you won't do it again if you lose but far harder in practise .
And from what I saw of your other post when you seemed to indicate you have a bankroll of £XXXXX the amount risked is too big a percentage of your roll anyway.
Don't make this insane play!!!

Hmm, this is based off a number of things primarily I think if you offered Newcastle a 0-0 they would take it but I don't see Newcastle keeping Villa out and I don't see Newcastle scoring. If Newcastle let 1 in I expect them to try and get one back and get ripped to pieces similarly I expect if Newcastle scored they would retreat and try and hold on, it may be much easier to back villa but I feel that Newcastle are more likely to score in the type of situation that would make villa be at a disadvantage ie. Penalty etc. The fantastic home form in the championship to me just can't translate into suitable homeform in the prem IMO.

I'm having an inception moment now, the planting of the seed of doubt is seriously testing my resolve hmm :/
Gotta way up the utlity from wishing I had but not having done it to the utility of doing it and ending up wishing I hadn't.
