    Not a Hat-Trick, £20 to £1000

This is in no way my idea or system (its not even a system really) it originated on Betfair and then I read it on a different sportsbetting forum.

    The post I saw was:
"Right, as of tonight, i'm giving this a go on Betfair. Basically, i'll start with £10, and i'm going to try and turn it in to £10,000 by betting on NO HAT-TRICKS being scored in a game. At average odds of 1.03, its going to take 235 games to do it. But, it's got to be tried.

So, i'm starting at the weekend with Man Utd vs Hull. I tricky start, granted, but its 1.07! I might revert back to the more mundane 1.03 ones then Wink

I'll keep the posts updated with how i get on over the coming months. I should be able to cover 1 game every day, so in about 9 months time, I should either be very happy, or £10 worse off!

    Wish me luck!"

I am doing similar but with a £20 start since it takes over 20 bets to get from £10 to £20 and I would mind losing £20 the same as £10 really this will save time. I am also not going to £10,000 because for a lot of bets I would have £5000, £6000, £7000+ bets on a match and I would be very very upset it that lost. I will be a bit nervous having £500, £600, £700+ but I will try to remember it started as £20 and I will live if it loses.

I am also being semi selective over matches, but there is no real hard an fast rules, it will be one or two bets a week I expect until I bust. Will post the results just for fun and hints/tips/comments would be welcome.

    I actually started last week:

    Start Balance = £20.00

    Fixtures 18 October Blackburn v Sunderland / Hat-trick Scored?
Comm Charged 5% On Net winnings of GBP0.4
    Balance after comm = £20.38

No bet so far this weekend but have queued at 1.03 on the Leeds vs Cardiff match tomorrow I think the original guys hope of getting 1.03 average is optimistic more often than not it will be at 1.02.

Interesting idea and a bit of fun that could lead to a nice payout from a small start.
Anyway tomorrow night they have napoli v ac milan which is currently 1.03
    that will do for me.

Nice one, good luck with that Good job you didn't pick one match I looked at today, forget off top of head now which it was but the final score was 10-0 and there were nearly *two* hattricks (in the end was just one but someone else also scored 2 in the same game)!

EDIT: It was the PSV game today:

    [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Rrd1bZxbJU"]YouTube - PSV EINDHOVEN VS FEYENOORD (10-0) Ridiculous!!10/24/2010 Dutch championship[/nomedia]

think Feyenoord must have just given up after they had someone sent off, there were a slew of goals after that!

Add me into this. I will go with this game also
I have for a few weeks been looking at doing this very market or 1+ goals on total goals. Keep putting it off as I thought I may not keep it up. Seeing this thread should remind me to place a bet most days pretty much.
