My 200/1 Grand National winner
The sun is shining, skirts are getting higher, & a young man's thoughts turn to wine, women, & the 4.15 at Aintree tomorrow.
I reckon Grand Slam Hero is massive at 200.0 on BF & also at 30.0-35.0 to place.
Take a look at the form:
Sporting Life - Racing | Horse Profile
Let's just summarise his wins, in reverse order, and the number of horses he beat:
1/12 on Good in August
1/16 on Good in July
1/6 on Good/Fm in June
1/12 on Gd/Fm in May
1/10 on Gd in May
1/9 on Gd/Fm in May
1/9 on Gd/sft in July
1/8 on Gd/Fm in Aug
1/10 on Gd/Fm in Jul
This horse couldn't love the sun any more unless he wore shades.
What else though? Well:
Weight? 10st7lb, absolutely ideal.
Age? 10, ideal.
Won over 3m+? Yes, twice
Able to beat big fields? Yes.
Trainer? N Twiston-Davies, won the national twice
Jockey? Aiden Coleman, the man who could have ridden Mon Mome & chose not to. I'm viewing that as a positive, good story when he win's tomorrow.
PS - Anyone now thinking of betting this please remember that 200/1 tips win less often than one time in two hundred

Was looking for some bets, had a good run the past few weeks trading, so a punt atm, and i might trade out closer to the off.

An out-and-out summer horse whose nine career wins have all come between the months of May and August when jump racing is generally less competitive. Jumped sketchily before being pulled up on his return from five-month break at Ffos Las last time and surely needs a barbecue heatwave if he is to stand any chance in this company.

I like Skippers Brig. Just sneaked in at the bottom of the weights, which hopefully will count in a long race. Beat the lower priced Ballabriggs last time @ Kelso.

I'm getting more confident by the moment
Nice little audio guide to every horse here for anyone (else) too lazy to read one:

I would have been on Skipper's Brig if it had rained BTW.
