*Anyone wanting to join in is of course allowed to make their own rules up and by no means do they have to follow what I've set out for myself*
I want to try turn £10 into 10k by doing spin ups; which is 10 winning bets by my calculations (not sure what the odds of winning 10 even bets in a row is though). The only bet I will have trouble with placing is the 9th bet (if I get to it); as that will be like a 5k bet, but other than that to me it’s just £10 lost.
I’m going to try as many times as allowed by the rules and will post each bet here.
Ok these are my own rules for doing spin-ups:
1)Two attempts per week: Only do a max of two starting £10 bets per week- which equals about 1k spent per year if I do it each week. (I can place as many other bets as I like, just only spend £20 per week of my own money on it)
2)Only bet on sports with 2 or 3 outcomes. mostly football, darts, tennis
3)I have no idea about teams so I will just be focusing on odds: any favourite at 2.0ish with the other odds at about 3.5 or higher
4)If I hit 10k withdraw and start again, going on until I give up Aping next year
5)If I lose then oh well it’s just numbers on a screen. And start again until I can’t take it anymore
I can’t think of any other rules as of yet, so let’s get started. I am genuinely excited about this. Even though it is straight gambling the money spent will just be a small part of my Aping profits and it’s a really fun thing to do
Potential winnings from each bet @2.0:
Bet 1:£20
Bet 2:£40
Bet 3:£80
Bet 4:£160
Bet 5:£320
Bet 6:£640
Bet 7:£1280
Bet 8:£2560
Bet 9:£5120

I got this from another site about flipping coins:
The event 'E' (flipping 10 times, and get all heads or tails) has probability p=1/2^9
The chance of 'not E' ( flipping 10 times, and get at least 1 head and 1 tail) is q=1-p
The chance of 'n' consecutive 'not E' events = q^n
When q^n < 50% , it will be more probabable you have at least one event 'E'.
Then, you need n > (ln 1/2) / (ln (1-1/2^9) )
n > ln 2 / ln(512/511) , or n > 354.5
So, n=355 , and you will need to flip the coin about 3550 times
So looks like winning 10 even bets in a row is about 1 in 3550 and I have 104 tries (twice a week for a year) So, I would say: 104 in 3550 or about 1 in 35 chance of doing it. I don't know if my maths is right here but still 1 in 3550 is worth a shot
