Good thread.

The thing I remember with acca's is that they are more a fun bet than anything. If I had enough money, I would only bet on singles and doubles, as I think that is the only way to make sure fire profit (provided they are value selections still).

However, a £1-£5 acca offers more fun for me, I might only drop one every now and then, but that bigger return from a small stake offers me more fun at the minute until I can afford to increase my gambling pool to make singles and doubles worthwhile.

the thing with accas is you only have to hit one every so often

you can lose 19 times then hit a 20/1 acca and get it all back.

accas really depend on how successful you are at picking winners, if you are consistantly hitting 4 or 5 out of every 5 selections then accas is the way to go without a shadow of a doubt, you are losing far too much money doing singles.

lets just take my accas which are 5 x £2 4folds for £10 total

for the example im going to use all odds will be 4/5 (thats what i like as a minimum if i can get it)

lets just say i get 5 out of 5 at odds of 4/5, that is a return of £105 for my tenner (£18 if singles), 4 out of 5 is giving me £21 return (£14.40 if singles) which is more than double my original stake. 0, 1, 2 or 3 out of 5 im losing my £10

so if i can hit 5 out of 5 once every 10 attempts then it will be profitable. with the fact im doubling my stake with 4 out of 5 this gives me an extra attempt to hit 5/5, just say i lose 5 times in a row im £50 down, then i hit 4/5 and make £10 profit im now only £40 down so ive went from having 5 attempts left to hit 5/5 to now having 6 attempts

the thing with accas vs singles is weather im confident in my own ability to find winners. IMO i think i will hit 5/5 more than enough times to cover the times i hit 0,1,2 or 3 and lose my stake

lets just say for 7 attempts i hit 3 out of 5 and lose my £10 stake (-£70), doing singles i would be making 80p profit so x that by 7 i would be just £5.60 in profit which would be £75.60 ahead of the accas. now on my 8th attempt i hit 5/5 and my singles profit is now up to £13.60 but accas has returned £105 so ive wiped out the £70 loss and i am now £25 in profit which nearly £12 more than i would be backing singles. the above example is if i hit 3/5 and i am making a profit from singles, if i hit 0,1 or 2 then i would also be making a loss on the singles and the acca profit over singles profit would be greater

like i said accas vs singles all depends on my ability to pick winners and weather i think i will hit 5/5 enough times to cover the times i lose my original stake
