BT's weekly double up challenge
WEEK 1 - So it has been over two months since anyone has posted on the US tipsters forum...
I have just taken a large withdrawal from a site and realised that I have $15 cash bonus available to claim.
I really cant be bothered to match this and therefore I will try and double up on MLB (give or take and nothing lower than -110) each day over the next few days and see where I end up - clearly it will be $nil!
Should I hit a winning streak and reach limits at the bookie I will transfer the balance to Pinnacle and play from there.
By way of background I knew nothing about baseball back in April other than that the Yankees and Braves were quite good so this should all be over on Thursday.
-
Day 1 - slightly cheating as this was yesterday but I didnt want to lose on day 1!
Balance $15.90
Bet $15 (I forgot about the $.90) on Yankees -1.5 (v Tigers) @ +110
There appears to be good value on the -1.5 spreads. The Tigers odds were good coming off of a good week against the White Sox and beating the Yankees on Monday.
-
Day 1 - Yankees 6 - 2 Tigers.
Bet WON
Balance $32.40 (+16.50)
-
Day 2:
Bet full balance of $32.40 on Giants -1.5 (v Phillies) @ +145
The Giants apparently played well for much of their game on Tuesday and are due a big score.
-
Day 2 - Phillies 8 - 2 Giants.
Bet lost.
I think ill adapt this into a seven steps to heaven (or a grand anyway) and undertake from £10 on a weekly basis.
Back next Monday.
-
WEEK 2 - A new week and a new challenge... double up or more everyday for seven days.
Starting fund - $10
Day 1 - Toronto Blue Jays (-1.5) v Yankees @ +161
[Ill change the title of the thread when I can work out how!]

Not sure i like the pick personally
Morrow threw 137 pitches 14 days ago then threw poorly against oakland in his next start which is no surprise. Its a ++ that hes pitching at home though and good hes had a few extra days off.
Yankees are one of the best offensive teams around and are hitting well the last week or so morrow has had some problems with them this season 5ER in his last start on august 2nd.
Novo starting his first game for the Yankees tonight so you can never tell with rookie pitchers but hes been pretty good in triple A all year its never a surprise to me when a rookie pitcher reels off some good early starts as the league tries to adjust and get scouting reports on him.
Just not enough +++ for me to bet on the jays let alone the runlines.

Fair points but the Blue Jays are also one of the best teams offensively and I think they will get after the new boy and post a few runs tonight.
Morrow also has a good record v Yankees.
We will see how it works out!

Day 1 - BET LOST
Toronto 3 - NY Yankees 2
A great result for the Blue Jays but no quite what I was looking for. Both pitchers kept it tight.
It is rather bizarre when your (home) team is one up at the top of the ninth but you actually need the opposing team to score runs to have a change with the -1.5 bet.
Back next week for a third crack at this...
