Introduction
TheGamblingTimes.com and Moneybookers have partnered to offer all TGT Premium members the opportunity of having two currency accounts for a months trial period (30 days).  This is to enable them to "start on US Books" and/or begin heavily wagering/arbing at "Euro" books or to move existing foreign currency balances to a new home where "High rollers" are appreciated and quality rewards are given out.  (See the Road to the World Cup Promotion).

Why have Moneybookers accounts in two different currencies?

Many bookmakers only allow you to deposit in certain currencies - for example ONLY in USD or Euro. If you only have a GBP Moneybookers account and want to transfer money to a non-GBP bookmaker account, you will end up paying a 'hidden' foreign exchange (forex) fee for doing so.

This hidden forex 'fee' is not explicitly displayed on your Moneybookers statement, but if you do the calculations on the amounts you receive into your non-GBP bookmaker account and compare it to the amount that was taken from your GBP Moneybookers account, you will find that you are charged around 1-2% by Moneybookers for performing the forex transaction.  However, if you have a second Moneybookers account in the same currency as the bookmaker you are depositing/withdrawing from, you can effectively avoid paying these hidden forex fees each time you deposit/withdraw. All your transactions are made in the same base currency, so no forex fees apply.

If you are planning on dutching at any "US facing" Bookmakers or trying your hand at clearing some bonuses as a Poker Pro then the "edge" you have is soon lost by the transaction fees involved unless you have a closed loop system for the US$s you will be generating.  Likewise there are a large number of European bookmakers who only accept the Euro and if you are going to try any kind of arbitrage betting then the %age margins will be eaten into converting back and forth to and from £ Sterling. These things are of little concern to mug punters and small time advantage players but to be either a Semi or FullTime Pro then it is essential to cut out these costs.

Details of the Offer

TGT has negotiated that any Premium Member intending on "Upping their game" can do so and have multiple currency accounts at Moneybookers for a TRIAL PERIOD to see the advantages and find out if they use the second account enough to justify having it.  In order to keep it you will have to transfer 5000 Euro (or the equivalent, so approx $6200 or £4200) to operators for the month following the date the second account is set up, and 15 000 Euro (or equivalent) in the 90 days following. If you do not do that then you will be asked to reduce to one account again and select which you would like closed.

To calculate the transfers total it will be the combined total of both your accounts.  If you DO meet the wagering requirements then you will automatically become a VIP and additionally benefit from:

  • No Limits… move as much money as you want.
  • Free deposits & withdrawals… no charges for sending and receiving money to and from your account.
  • Multi currency accounts… keep money in up to 3 different currencies.
  • Lower exchange rates…benefit from special rates with your VIP status.
  • The MoneybookersMasterCard® prepaid card… access your funds for free as a VIP.
  • Personal VIP account manager… enjoy a tailored VIP service to help you with anything you need.
