The idea of TheGamblingTimes.com was first conceived in late 2006 by Andrew Heaford (Andy) and Ian Shurmer (Ian).  The first version of the website went live in early 2007 in a blaze of absolutely no publicity at all.  It was set up with the aim of providing news about, reviews of, and information on all aspects of the online gambling industry.  Members are encouraged to gamble responsibly at sites we recommend using any method, staking plan or system they choose.  We believe there is no "right" or "wrong" bet, system or strategy and that everybody is free to gamble how they choose.  Regular membership is and always has been 100% free of charge, and anybody is free to use the site, post on the forum, get help with "rogue" sites, share any £s the site makes through the £5s scheme and read the chatbox, articles and comprehensive reviews of virtually every online gambling site.  In November 2009 the Premium membership scheme was introduced which enables all the regular benefits plus:  Premium Membership

The forum is the heart of the site and where most activity centres.  It has evolved over time and had several revamps over the years.  Its roots can be traced back to a NCFC fanzine website "Yarmy" which had a "matched betting" section.  This merged with the website TheGamblingTimes.com in the Spring of 2007.  Around this time, the US website TheGamblersUnderground.com was also growing and started a spin-off forum focused on US Sportsbetting called TheFellasForum.  The introduction of the US Online Gambling Ban effectively closed TheGamblersUnderground website and, by the Autumn of 2007, TheFellasForum was the only part left which was actively used.  In November 2007, the small UK-focused TheGamblingTimes forum merged with small US-focused TheFellasForum and became medium sized International TheGamblersUnderground forum which was seperate to, but sponsored by, TheGamblingTimes.com.  In Spring 2009, TheGamblersUnderground forum had over 3000 members and was fully intergrated into an upgraded TheGamblingTimes.com.  The two are now one and the same.
