Nicky Henderson’s yard are confident that Altior – one of the big favourites ahead of the 2017 Cheltenham festival – will come through his Newbury test on Saturday without any issues.
With a host of big names already ruled out of the Cheltenham Festival, Altior is the banker of the festival for many people and the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner from last season has been imperious since that win and is now 1/2 for the Arkle at Prestbury Park in March.

Nicky Henderson saw another of his big Cheltenham hopes Might Bite ease to victory at Doncaster on Thursday and he has similar hopes for Altior when he lines up in the Betfair Exchange Chase on Saturday.
” Everything is well with Altior, we’re looking forward to it,” he said.
“It would be nice if it was similar to Might Bite at Doncaster, but I can’t quite see that somehow!”
Henderson’s assistant trainer Toby Lawes added: “It will be a good race with Fox Norton in it. It will be a proper test and his first one over fences.”
