Lacazette odds on to join Atletico

Atletico Madrid are firm favourites to seal the signing of Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette this summer.

The 25-year-old has scored nearly a goal every other game for the club, who he has now played just short of 250 games for and understandably he is one of the most wanted strikers in Europe.

Sources close to Arsenal have confirmed that Lacazette is one of their main targets for the summer – but now Atletico are odds-on to land him.

Lacazette’s club  president Jean-Michel Aulas also admitted that he would allow the 25-year-old to depart Parc Olympique Lyonnais in the summer.

“Alex has a good option with a club that is in his heart. If the club of his heart is able to match our demands – as Barcelona did last season for Sam Umtiti – then things will go well. Otherwise, it will depend on our other business,” said Aulas.

And Lacazette himself confirmed the interest of Atletico when asked about them: “Yes, I like them. They’ve got great players, a great manager, a good fanbase and Antoine [Griezmann] is there.

‘We’ll see what happens at the end of the season and I’ll think about it then. There are things, but the press talk about a lot of clubs, but I trust what my agent tells me and we’ll see.”

Bookmakers have made Lacazette just 8/15 to join Atletico this summer.
