World Championship Darts Daily with Ladbrokes

Phil Taylor faces Gary Anderson and Michael van Gerwen takes on Raymond van Barneveld in the pick of today’s quarter-final matches from the PDC World Darts Championship.

Elsewhere, Jamie Lewis goes head-to-head with Darren Webster in the opening game of the day.

Meanwhile, Rob Cross will duel with Dimitri Van den Bergh in a battle between two of the sport’s most exciting players.

We’ve gone through all the action and picked out the best bets below…

Jamie Lewis v Darren Webster (12:45)

The opening game of the day is a clash between two of the tournament’s surprise packages.

Jamie Lewis put in the performance of the competition so far to see off Peter Wright in the second round and followed that up with a gritty 4-1 win over James Richardson last night.

He should edge through at 4/5 against Webster, who is even-money.

Both players are in uncharted territory at the quarter-final stage, which could make for a slow-burning thriller.

You can back Lewis to edge a hard-fought clash 5-3 at 5/1.

The Welshman took out a 170 finish in the last round and is 5/2 to be King of the Oche this afternoon.

Dimitri Van den Bergh v Rob Cross (14:30)

The second game of the day sees two of 2017’s rising stars go head-to-head.

Rob Cross is the 2/9 favourite for the match, with Dimitri Van den Bergh temptingly priced at 10/3.

The pair have produced some scintillating darts already and have chalked up 46 180s between them so far.

It’s 6/4 for Cross – who has accounted for 29 of those maximums – to hit one in the first leg.

If both of these players bring their A-game to the oche we could be in for an incredible afternoon of action.

‘Voltage’ is backed to prevail 5-3 at 9/2.

Michael van Gerwen v Raymond van Barneveld (19:15)

These two have enjoyed some ding-dong battles over the years.

While MVG usually comes out on top, he hasn’t always got his way at the World Championships.

Barney edged through 4-3 when the pair met in the last-16 back in 2015.

Van Gerwen avenged that defeat last year by routing his compatriot 6-2 en-route to a second title.

He’s 1/7 to claim the spoils this time, with RVB at 9/2.

Both players have yet to dip under a 100.00 average in the tournament this year, while they’ve shared 35 180s combined.

That makes a first leg 180 at 5/6 more than appealing, while it’s 12/1 for both darters to throw a maximum in the first leg of the match.

MVG is taken to edge a to-and-fro contest 5-2 at 7/2.

Phil Taylor v Gary Anderson (21:00)

Tonight’s standout game is a repeat of the 2015 World Championship Final.

Anderson clinched a dramatic darting tussle 7-6 on that occasion to deny Taylor a 17th World title.

‘The Power’ has been in fantastic form this year, though.

And against the injured Scotsman we think that Stoke arrowsmith could continue his fairytale run towards the final this evening.

He’s 4/5 to win the match, with Anderson at even-money.

If the Flying Scotsman is on form he could take some beating.

But with the extent of his back injury not yet known, it’s anyone’s guess what kind of performance the 47-year-old will turn in.

Taylor is 5/1 to edge the contest 5-3, while his King of the Oche odds also makes significant appeal at 10/1.

It’s 12/5 for the 57-year-old to hit a 180 in the first leg of the match.
