Liverpool kept away from Champions League favourites | Arsenal face Atleltico

Real Madrid's Gareth Bale

Liverpool have been drawn with Roma in the Champions League semi-finals as favourites and defending champions Real Madrid were paired with Bayern Munich.

In a repeat of the 1984 European Final, Liverpool face the Giallorossi – with the first leg at Anfield, before return leg in the Eternal City.

The first semi sees Bayern host Real, before the second leg in the Spanish capital.

Following the draw, Bookmakers still make Real favourites at 7/4 but Liverpool are now second favourites at 2/1 with Bayern pushed out to 9/4 with Roma the outsiders of the four at 9/1.

The draw for the semi finals of the Europa League, was similar to that of the Champions League – in that the two favourites were paired together as Arsenal were drawn with Atletico Madrid.

That meant the second semi-final saw Marseille drawn with Red Bull Salzburg.

Atletico have eased to 6/5 from 11/10 favourites with the Gunners drifting to 5/2 from 2/1 to lift the trophy. Marseille are 7/2 from 5/1 with the Austrians 6/1 from 7/1.
