Hazard warning for Chelsea

Eden Hazard has told Chelsea that he is exploring his options, and the club believe he will seek to leave this summer.

I understand the Belgian star, one of the Premier League’s leading lights, is far from certain to remain with Chelsea and the club are aware of his feelings.

Hazard committed his immediate future to Chelsea last summer, after lifting the Premier League title but now 12-months on – they have failed to make the top-four which means there will be no Champions League football at Stamford Bridge.

Now Hazard is looking at his future, and sources close to the situation have revealed that could very well be departing along with his fellow countryman Thibaut Courtois, who has just 12-months left on his deal at the club.

Real Madrid are leading the chase to land both Belgians, but nothing is likely to be resolved in the near future.

Hazard is currently on World Cup duty with Belgium, but speaking from their training camp he admits he needs to know what is going on at Chelsea before deciding his future.

“Yeah I want to know [what is going on at Chelsea],” said Hazard.

“I want to know, but like I say I am focused on the World Cup. If we have something new – manager or players – it is always good to know it because I want players that can [help bring success back to] Chelsea next season.

“But to be fair the transfer market is not here [in full flow] yet. We will see after.”

Bookmakers currently are giving Chelsea the edge on keeping him and PaddyPower make them 4/6 to keep Hazard, but he is just Evens to join Real Madrid – so they also believe that has a real chance of happening.
