We look at the day’s best bets with Betfred – today covering some Cheltenham hopefuls, the FA Cup fourth round and the final Test in South Africa.
Today’s don’t miss bets…
Cheltenham hopefuls on show
Nicky Henderson runs two exciting young prospects at Doncaster today, so it certainly seems significant that his number one rider Nico de Boinville opts for Huntingdon instead to ride Mister Coffey in the 12.50.
The five-year-old, who holds an entry for the Supreme Novices’ at the Festival in March, has an exceptionally tall reputation, with Henderson saying, and I quote, he is “going to be spectacular.”
It will be interesting to see if he can make a big statement today – and if he does, he’s for sure going to be shorter than his current odds of 25/1 for the Festival’s curtain-raiser…
Over to Doncaster, and we see another two potential Cheltenham horses battle it out in the 1.15.
Henderson’s Glynn (11/8), another with a bit of a reputation and a Supreme entry, makes his debut under rules – while Jonjo O’Neill fields Papa Tango Charly (7/4), who cost over £400,000 and really showed his promised last time out when finishing a career-best seven lengths behind Colin Tizzard’s exciting The Big Breakaway.

Rain rain go away
The start of the 4th and final Test between England and South Africa has been delayed courtesy of rain at the famous old Wanderers ground in Johannesburg.
At time of writing the forecast isn’t too clever for the weekend, too – so I’m wondering how long the current price of 5/4 will last, about the match being a draw. Just a thought ….
Latest Test prices – England 7/4, South Africa 13/5, Draw 5/4
The magic of the FA Cup
League One side Tranmere are into the 4th Round of the FA Cup after beating Watford in extra-time last night – and they will be visited by Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
What a story it would be if Tranmere could knock out two Premier League sides in the space of a few days…
