Tottenham Hotspur left it late to claim a 1-0 victory at Crystal Palace to again close the gap on league leaders Chelsea.

Spurs looked like they could be held by a stubborn Palace side, but with just eight-minutes left Spurs won it and it was a brilliant strike from Dane Christian Eriksen as he fired home from 25-yards.

Spurs shorten a point to 6/1 from 7/1 to win the title.

Arsenal, who face Spurs at the weekend, moved back up to sixth place after a 1-0 win over Leicester City at the Emirates – but The Gunners left it late to grab the win.

The game looked to be heading for a goalless draw until four-minutes from time when Nacho Monreal’s effort took a huge deflection off Robert Huth.

Arsenal are now three-points off Manchester United in fifth and further point adrift of Manchester City – with those two due to meet on Thursday.

Finally, Middlesbrough sealed their first win of 2017 as they beat local rivals Sunderland 1-0 at The Riverside.

The only goal of the game came courtesy of Dutch international Marten De Roon who prodded home after just eight minutes – to give caretaker Steve Agnew his first win.

Boro are now six points ahead of bottom of the table Sunderland, but are still some four points off safety.
