Alan Pardew new favourite in Premier League sack race

West Brom boss Alan Pardew is hanging onto his job at The Hawthorns despite only being appointed in November.

Pardew has won just one Premier League game in 13, and The Baggies are seven points adrift of safety and they were dumped out of the FA Cup on Saturday as Southampton won at The Hawthorns.

And off-the-field things have been going from bad to worse for Pardew. The club sacked John Williams as chairman and Martin Goodman as chief executive – the two men who appointed him and Chinese owner Guochuan Lai is looking closely at his manager.

Pardew admits the upheavel above his head is a worry, and said: “They’re good people and I was disappointed if I’m honest.”

Then that was followed up by an incident on the club’s mini-break to Barcelona this week when Jonny Evans, Gareth Barry, Jake Livermore and Boaz Myhill were accused of stealing a taxi, and the four have since apologised.

“This is obviously not ideal. They broke the curfew and that’s unacceptable and I feel a bit let down by that,” said Pardew.

Now with everything going on, Pardew has surged to the head of the sack race ahead of previous favourite Antonio Conte and Mauricio Pellegrino.

BetVictor make Pardew Evens and now most likely to be the next Premier League boss to leave.

BetVictor’s Head of ante post Football Michael Triffitt commented:  “Alan Pardew has come in for support to be the next Premier League manager to leave his job. The former Crystal Palace and Newcastle gaffer is even money favourite now from 10/1 Friday morning. With the recent removing of the Chairman and chief executive along with the team’s  poor form on the field, punters have been quick to react thinking he might be next for the chop at the Hawthorns.

“Antonio Conte saw his Chelsea charges coast to a 4-0 FA Cup success over Hull and he has eased to 3/1 from 6/4 having been laid at 1/5 previously.”
