Superstar Altior will make his seasonal debut at Newbury this weekend.
Nicky Henderson has confirmed that Altior will make his reappearance on Saturday, as long as the ground is suitable.
The eight-year-old has been out of action since late last April, when he took his 100 per cent record over fences to six in the Celebration Chase at Sandown.
He was due to run in the Tingle Creek in December but was forced to miss that due to a breathing problem which required a minor operation.
Altior is currently firm favourite to land the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham, and is listed as Evens with Unibet.
Altior has been given an entry for @NewburyRacing on Saturday and the intention is very much to run. His work has been good and we’re very happy. We’ll keep an eye on the weather but if it stays Good to Soft/Soft, he’ll be declared. Might Bite will go straight to Cheltenham. pic.twitter.com/LY1sCAKgaH
