Arsenal to try and sweeten Zaha offer

Arsenal are ready to make a renewed bid for Wilfried Zaha, and they are ready to offer a number of players to try and get the deal done.

Zaha, who only signed a long-term at Palace last season, has told the club he wants to leave, and a move across the capital to Arsenal is believed to appeal.

A message confirmed by his brother Judicael Zaha, who stated: “For all that Wilfried has given to Palace to help them remain a PL club, I hope they will be able to see their way to agreeing a deal with Arsenal that allows him to realise his dream of playing European football for the club he’s supported since childhood.”

Palace have already lost one of their prized assets in Aaron Wan-Bissaka, when Manchester United agreed a £50million deal.

Zaha, though, carries an even bigger price-tag. Reports have claimed Palace want £100million, but it is believed a deal of around £80million could persuade the South London club to sell.

However, Arsenal have a hugely restricted budget to work with this summer, and they have a number other positions to bolster.

Arsenal have launched a £40million bid, which has already been rejected but they hope to sweeten the deal further.

Mohamed Elneny, Calum Chambers, Carl Jenkinson and Konstantinos Mavropanos are amongst the players believed to be on offer – whilst Henrikh Mkhitaryan has also been mentioned but his wages would likely make any move unlikely.

Arsenal could also offer long-term loans, with the likes of Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith Rowe both possibilities.

Bookmakers are convinced that if Zaha gets the move he wants, then he will be on his way to The Emirates with BetVictor making them odds-on at 1/2.
