Arsenal have seen their title odds cut after they claimed the Community Shield after a penalty shoot-out win over Chelsea at Wembley.
Chelsea had gone ahead through Victor Moses, before Pedro was sent off for an ugly challenge on Mohamed Elneny.
From the resulting free-kick, Arsenal debutant Sead Kolasinac headed the Gunners level to take the match to penalties.
The shootout – the first in English football to follow the ABBA format – saw Chelsea miss back-to-back penalties, including new signing Alvaro Morata and that allowed Olivier Giroud to win the match from the spot.
As a result of the win, they have now shortened to 11/1 from 12/1 for the Premier League as a result.
Chelsea remain priced at 7/2 to retain the title this season. Manchester City are the current 7/4 favourites with Manchester United second in the betting at 10/3.
Aoife Heffron, spokeswoman for BoyleSports said: “Arsenal clambered back from the dead with 10 minutes to go in the Community Shield, securing a 1-1 draw then a 4-1 win on penalties to take the first piece of silverware of the season.
“With the Premier League kicking off next week Arsenal now join Liverpool at 11/1 from 12/1 for the title, a slight move for Wenger’s men.”
