Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reiterated that he does not envisage Alexis Sanchez leaving the club under any circumstances this summer.
Manchester City are pushing hard to land the Chilean, but French giants Paris Saint Germain have emerged as favourites to land him in recent days.
Sanchez has less than 12-months left on his current deal and a new contract looks a long way from being agreed, but despite no deal being imminent – Wenger insists that they won’t be selling.
He also says PSG’s move for Neymar means they will not be signing Sanchez.
“Has he asked to leave? No. PSG can’t get Sanchez, so they are going for Neymar,” claimed the Arsenal boss.
“My mind has been made up for a while now. I think I’ve made it clear a few times; that this is my stance.
“We are in a strong financial position. Sanchez has got one year to go on his contract and we have no need to make money.
“He will be part of the team next year and after that I can understand it.”
Bookmakers are now siding with Wenger and Arsenal for the first time in a while are favourites to have Sanchez in their side next season.
PaddyPower rate them at 8/11 to keep Sanchez, with PSG at 11/8 and Man City now as long as 4/1.
