Bale staying put

Gareth Bale insists that he will not be leaving Real Madrid this summer, despite constant links with a move back to England.

The 27-year-old helped Madrid claim their third Champions League title in four years in his hometown of Cardiff over the weekend, and he more than happy with life in the Spanish capital.

Manchester United have long-been linked with the Welsh star, but with five-years left on his deal, he appears more than happy to remain.

“We are winning trophies and I am happy. I have signed a long-term contract at Madrid,” said Bale.

“My family is happy and I am happy, so yes we will continue what we are doing.

“It’s the reason why I came to Real Madrid – to win trophies. We’re enjoying winning them at the moment, so we’ll continue to do so,” Bale added.

“Three Champions Leagues in four seasons isn’t too bad.

“I think we can get better. We are still quite young as a whole team and we have a great squad.”

Bookmakers also feel Bale will still be at Madrid next season with SkyBet list him at 1/8.
