Barcelona have until Friday to land Philippe Countinho, but Liverpool look unlikely to give in and sell.
Reports in Spain suggest that Barca could make a fourth bid worth close to £140million for the Brazilian, before their deadline closes on Friday evening.
England’s deadline closes on Thursday, but Spain have an extra 24 hours to do deals, and so in theory Coutinho could move to the Nou Camp on Friday.
However, whilst Coutinho is desperate to seal the move – Liverpool are standing firm.
Bookmakers firmly believe that Coutinho will be remaining on Anfield, and we spoke to PaddyPower about the prospect of a late move.
“We’re now heavily odds-on that Coutinho stays at Anfield – though a nervous 24 hours lays in wait for Liverpool fans, as Barcelona could still swoop to rip their Brazilian away quicker than a wax strip,” PaddyPower spokesman Lee Price told TheGamblingTimes.com.
