Barcelona remain confident that they will land Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho this summer, despite Reds boss Jurgen Klopp’s insistence that he is not leaving.
The 25-year-old has been identified as a main target for Barca, but Klopp is growing frustrated with the links.
Football INDEX Watch – Philippe Coutinho £3.01 – Looks to have plenty of profit in him, almost approaching a bargain figure to us.
“If you say he is not available to be sold, where is the interpretation?” said Klopp.
“The word ‘not’ means there is no interpretation. There is nothing new. He is not for sale.”
However, sources close to Barcelona insist that they are pushing hard to land Coutinho – who is likely to be the replacement for Neymar, who is inching closer to sealing a world record switch to Paris Saint Germain.
PSG have also been linked with Coutinho, as a possible partner for Neymar, and that is another reason Barca are understood to be pushing for a deal.
Liverpool slapped a £130million price-tag on their Brazilian last week to try and put off interest, but that did not have the desired effect and Coutinho is believed to be pushing for a deal with Barca.
Bookmakers side with Liverpool just in this market, with SkyBet making him 5/4 to go to Barcelona but he is 4/7 to stay at Anfield – if you did believe that a move to Paris is an option then you can get 25/1.
