Barcelona are keen on landing Paul Pogba, but it would take a huge offer to persuade Manchester United to sell the French ace.
Reports of discontent between Pogba and United boss Jose Mourinho have been continuous in recent months, but now Barca are looking to test the resolve of the English giants to keep the World Cup winner.
Spanish sources believe that Pogba would like to make the move, and there have been claims of a bid – but United are standing firm over a player who is the most expensive signing in British history, after they paid Juventus just under £90million for him in 2016.
United sources have told me that there is little interest in letting Pogba leave.
It has also been claimed that Barca have tried to tempt United with a cash plus player offer for Pogba with Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes offered, but that again looks far from what would be needed to get a deal done.
Bookmakers have cut Barcelona’s odds on landing Pogba with PaddyPower now listing him at 12/5 to join the Catalans this month.
Spokesman Paddy Power said: “The man with the greatest initials in world sport could be in line for another jaw-dropping transfer, judging by the betting activity we’re seeing.
“His return to United was much feted, but it’s been more Pog-doom-and-gloom than Pog-boom.”
