Crystal Palace, Everton and Southampton are all battling to land Dutch international defender Jairo Riedewald.

Palace boss Frank De Boer believes he is in pole position to land a player he helped develop during his time as Ajax boss.

Talks between Palace and Ajax are well advanced. but The Eagles are not the only Premier League in the hunt to land the 20-year-old.

I understand that both Everton and Southampton want Riedewald, who can play left-back, centre-half or even in midfield, and have entered into talks.

Tottenham had also been keen earlier in the summer but their interest has waned in recent weeks and I understand Newcastle United were also in the market for him – but were only looking at an initial loan move.

Palace are favourites with the Bookmakers to land the young Dutch stopper and are rated at 6/4 with BetVictor, but Everton and Southampton are just behind in the betting at 3/1.
