England cricket star Ben Stokes is odds-on favourite to win the Sports Personality of the Year award 2019 after the six finalists were confirmed.
Stokes, who won the World Cup for England before producing one of the most memorable innings in history against Australia, has been firm favourite since the summer and now he is odds-on at 1/25 to take the title in early December.
The Durham all-rounder would be the first cricket winner since Andrew Flintoff in 2005.
Stokes’s closest rival in the betting is sprint world champion Dina Asher-Smith, who is 2/5 for the win, and could be the first woman to win since Zara Phillips in 2006.
Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton, who has won before in 2014, is rated third in the betting at 8/11.
Manchester City’s star Raheem Sterling is Evens, whilst Welsh rugby captain Alan Wyn Jones is 6/5 and heptahlete Katrina Johnson Thompson is seen as the outsider at 11/5.
